Lara Croft has been found.

 Alicia Vikander has signed on to star in Tomb Raider for MGM, Warner Bros. and GK Films,The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The movie project, which has Roar Uthaug (The Wave) on board to direct, will tell the story of a young and untested Croft fighting to survive her first adventure.

Both are very good actors. for sure the reboot games have much better scope for adapting to a movie than the original games.

Also this director seems to know what he's doing. His one and only movie to get a rotten tomatoes score got an 80% from 74 reviews. So that's promising. He's a relative unknown, but that's only a bad thing if they things you've made so far have been rubbish, and / or limited to music videos and TV ads. So Roar doesn't seem to suffer from either of those downsides.

I'm not optimistic or hopeful that the movie will actually be good, but I have some confidence that it will be watchable.
