That is probably because Nintendo games in particular tend to have the framerate determine gamespeed. So it isn't that you have fewer frames to refresh which causes stuttering, but the actual game-speed depends on the framerate.

I never thought of this. It would explain whats happining. Man i just wish the emu would use more of my CPU and GPU. It never uses more then 20-25%cpu. But i do think it will be due a big speed up soon enough.

It'll probably come all at once. They already seemed to have gotten the hard part down, and computers today are definitely capable enough (unlike in the beginning of GC,Wii, PS2 emulation.)

One of the things I hate about playing 3DS games is that there is so much aliasing. I'd love to play the games at 1080p. Heck, I'd even buy a 3D monitor if they were able to emulate the 3DS' code to work with steoreoscopic 3D (although I already have a 3D TV that works.)

I've tried a few games on Dolphin in 3D, and it looks pretty awesome (and they weren't even designed for it.) The Last Story and Windwaker were especially nice.

Oh boy piracy. Let's all steal from the devs, publishers and console makers that make our favorite games

Just saying, emulation isn't illegal if you own the software. So basically, any accusations rely on the honor system.

Well, strictly speaking it's illegal if you use a pirated copy of the game. Even if you own an original copy of the game, it's still only legal if you've ripped the copy you're using on your PC yourself. :-p

Sure but for something like older games where the rom doesn't have any distinction from any other cart, it's kinda murky.

this is incredible. extremely excited for these. it will be nice to replay the system's great games on this.

Hi

How many cores does it have pegged to 100% though?
The GPU might not be pegged at 100% as Nintendo games are typically light weight on graphics, the CPU may also not be fast enough to feed it too.

Holy smokes.

Up to 2k support already o.O.

You can do 4k and 5k and beyond as well.
In-fact, you could do 4k and then downscale it, the image quality gains should be pretty good.
Although... Performance is another matter entirely.

It's still stealing dude, taking $5 worth of stuff from a store is still wrong even if it's not enough to really hurt the business. I could kind of justify emulation before last gen when the only other way to play old games was to actually own the original system and game but chances are all of these games are going to be on the nx eshop in a few years and the same goes for the Wii u and 360, you have no excuse anymore

This is going to take years before it's in a state where you could run every game at full speed... And by that time, Nintendo would have cast aside the systems for their newer ones, allowing the hardware and games to fall into obscurity.

Emulation allows for the preservation of platforms and software.

The flip side to this though... Is that it could allow for the sale of more games as the games are opened up to being played on more Platforms, usually this happens via second hand sale, Emulation has never been full speed playable while a console has been on a market.

The Xbox 360 has also ceased production as a platform it's officially dead, emulation preserves it.

No one is talking piracy here.
Emulation is legal (Will vary from country to country obviously.)

Depends on the country you reside in. Not always the case.
And more modern systems you don't need to rip OR pirate the game, you infact use your original copy of the game.

Them games all run better then in my video when im not recording. Recording footage at 2K takes a toll on my CPU lol xD.

Still you should of seen the emu about 5-6 months ago. Even when not recording would of been lucky to get 10FPS lol xD.

Shouldnt be long then, i used to emulate the ds but ended up just buying a 2ds cause i couldnt enjoy it for some reason on the pc.

Downloaded Citra and tried Majora's Mask. I get fullspeed in some areas, but definitely not Termina Field.

I have not been able to get audio to work for some reason. It just gives errors in the command prompt.

Also the scaling renderer is glitchy. Sometimes it seems to be at a high resolution (but still with tons of aliasing) and some times it will automatically scale back down to the 3DS native resolution with boxes around it.

If I had more time I would lend my hand to help them. It would be a lot of fun, and there are certain things I think I can help with, programming-wise.

So how you put the games into the PC in order to play them?

I wonder why Nintendo emulators get developed so quickly compared to other platforms..
