I was pretty confident It was going to be a day one buy, but I'm having second thoughts now. I don't trust Nintendo at all, debating using that money on upgrading my PS4 or GPU instead.

A low price. 299 max.
Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.
I just need confirmation that the console will be a match for ps4 terms of power. And have similar 3rd party to N64, Gamecube and Wii.
hard for me to say exactly what i'd need.
some sort of warm fuzzy feeling inside that nintendo won't abandon the system early and that the games they make are something I would want to play (as in not "accessible" games that are low in content and gameplay). right now i have almost no trust in nintendo and somehow they'd need to earn that back.
nintendo can make a great game but they are few are far between for my tastes and i don't want to buy a system that only has 4-5 games i want to play on it like wiiU was. 1 game a year isn't worth it for me even if that game is amazing.
There's nothing that will make me buy it in its first year. In fact; I've never bought a console in its first year, the closest was the PS2, which I bought after about two years, most others have been bought after about three years.
I might actually get it day one, since March is my birthday month, but I want more details first.
If Smash comes out within first year, then I would definitely buy day one.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
Realistically speaking, there's nothing they can do to convince me.
Hypotheticallyu speaking, an exclusive mainline Final Fantasy + Dragon Quest + Persona + some western open world rpg will do. And of course it needs to be a pretty powerful console with a decent price and good network services...yeah, I'm not buying it, ever.
