Nothing much to add to the OP but to restate the question: What does NX need for you to buy it in its first year? A big 3D adveture Mario like Mario 64? Zelda NX having perfect scores? A free poster of all your favorite female Nintendo characters in suggestive poses?

No, really, I'm being serious, that's all it needs

I won´t buy it first year, that´s because I want confirmation that I will be able to play on the home console every game nintendo releases. If there are any portable NX exclusive game I´m out.

A shit ton of great games, which should actually be possible thanks to the unified library but it's Nintendo we're talking about so hafta wait and see.

For someone like me (not neccessarily a fan of Nintendo IPs/last Nintendo Console was GC) here´s what it´ll take for me to buy it year 1:

- Bloodborne 2 is exclusive
- All future FF, KH and to a lesser extend DQ games are exclusive
- Resident Evil is back to its roots and only available on NX
- Essentially Nintendo bought Capcom, Square Enix, Naughty Dog and Kojima Production

Yep that is a friggin ridiculous hurdle (essentially impossible), but I think I am not the only former Nintendo fan that is no longer attracted to their IPs (Zelda is kinda cool though) and thus Simply Nintendo IP + 3rd Party won´t get me to buy the NX much less in year 1. Now I think in general Nintendo has to proof that this time is different by showing nonstop releases of blockbuster games throughout its lifetime. Let´s hope they see NX as a chance to regain consumer trust and really knock it out of the park with their NX follow up.

games. Good 1st party games. I don't care about multiplats, since I prefer to play them on PC. Zelda is already enough, but more (which it will have) would be excellent.

Buying it for sure when Metroid or an exclusive Zelda is released, maybe sooner if the next 3D Mario looks great

It's a year one for me most likely. Unless it's something awful, which I doubt. So all it needs is to not be awful.
