Games that I mentioned will better remembered than games you mentioned. Reality is that only small number of people was executed with Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade and Pokken Tournament compared with Splatoon, Mario Kart 8 and Mario Maker.

That isnt the point. Its not these or others will be the most. Its wich ones are remembered fondly. Good games fall under that category. It's not about numbers, its about quality and exclusivity.

Yes its a point, for instance Splatoon is totally new and great IP that become very popular, you can't really expect that Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade and Pokken Tournament be remembered same like Splatoon.

But i can remember someone dodging a crow avatar though. :D

Your comment would look so much meaningful with one by its side.

It's not a constest btw. They don't all have to be remembered the same way to be part of the legacy.

The Wii U's Legacy is Splatoon. That's it.

Of Course it's not contest, I named games for which IMO Wii U will be remembered.

How? I'm not saying they aren't good game by the way. But honestly, what big new ideas have either of them brought?

One is the first competitive Nintendo game, some would consider ever (being they consider Smash a party game). It certainly is Nintendo's first real jump into online multiplayer. The other is the first creator game of a major ip.

Creator games already existed, competitive multiplayer is over a decade old. Wouldn't really consider that a new idea.

lets not also forget these notes:

Amiibo: the perfect combination of DLC, collectible figurines, and every collector's worst nightmare

TV-off play: play console titles in the palm of your hand, limited to only your own house though, unless you want to get crafty

Local multiplayer: 7 different controller types to choose from (may vary between games) and potential to support up to 8 players at the same time on a single console.

Mario Party: rest in peace old friend. im not sure it will ever be the same after 10

Miiverse: take it or leave it. it gets worse with every update imo

- First Nintendo console with no exclusive Zelda game.

You know, I wonder about this. I don't think GameBoy Color had an exclusive Zelda Game. The GBA came out under a month after the Oracle games. You didn't have to buy a GBC to play them in their launch period, isn't that the only metric by which the label "exclusive" has any meaning? Then The Minish Cap released long after the DS, so the GBA didn't truly have an exclusive Zelda game either.

I'd sooner accept the "handheld =/= console" semantics argument than some "but the cartridge said GBC tho" silliness.

The Oracle games have to be counted as GBA games. Two of the 64 rings could only be got when playing on a GBA.

On topic: Best Nintendo system ever, but underappreciated during its time because the amount of true gamers was at an all-time low.

GBA SP is perhaps the greatest video game console ever. It's compact, has a long battery life and an enormous, high-quality library. The buttons are great. My 3DS shoulder buttons crapped out after like a year. Brightness settings can also be changed more quickly on the SP. And the system doesn't even damage its own screen! What an amazing machine.

I have had a Wii U for quite a while. I will overall remember it as what could have been. If Nintendo had not been crazy and put the gamepad with it, it would have sold millions of more units and would likely have a much larger pool of 3rd party games. If the gamepad was thrown out my only real issue with the Wii U would be resolved.

Good: Had some great games

Bad: The gamepad and not 3rd party support

Wii U is the Sega Saturn of the 21st century; a cult curiosity that had certain niche appeal, but did just about everything wrong from a design and management point of view.

This generation is basically a mirror image of the 5th generation.

Wii U=Sega Saturn

Xbox One=Nintendo 64

Plystation 4=Playstation
