And what is this based on?

This is based of the statement from sony, who said that they delivered/ sold 40 million ps4 to retailers now and on the statement from ea which said that botch consoles delivered/sold to retailers 60 million units at the end of february

The quote you talk of is 55 million by the end of December 2015.

Secondly, PS4 is at 39.8 on Chartz with 5 days of March remaining. Even if it is overtracked, it isn't by 2 million or a million.

almost everything improved even mobile which has decreased its loss significantly

Well maybe a million. Like Kowenicki said, they must keep up demand. That would put it at around 39 million sold by the end of March.

Shipments this latest quarter are actually 200k above expectations, yet it's still the PS4's worst Q4 (Financial Year) in terms of shipments. Still an incredible Financial Year for PlayStation, Sony's original forecast was 16million, and it ended up being 17.7million, meaning it ended up being 10.625% higher.

Sony expects FY2016 to be even higher, full forecast will be May 24th.

Overtracked somewhat then, unless it sold more than it shipped through the end of march. Likely at around 39 million as of the end of the month of March, I'd say, we need to shave off an entire million if that's the case, meaning that we've been overtracking the lifetime yearly 2016 numbers by around 30% (operating with 3.35 or thereabouts sold so far through March 26th), that's a pretty huge margin.

On a lifetime total scale, it's not huge, on a 2016 scale, seeing as our numbers were pretty good for the last quarter of 2015; it's more akin to disaster when you think about it.

No i´m talking of the statement from end of february which says 60 million both!!!!

And now 2 months later sony says theay have sold 40 million to >>>>> retailers <<<<<<<

I think Xone shipped 23-24 Million and has 2 million in stores (global)

Ps4 has 40 Million shipped and 2 million in stores

EA probably rounded up.  Chances are they are approximating. And they probably are using shipment numbers like they do with their own sales figures.

Probably, perhaps. But we all can say that ps4 is overtracked by 500k+ and xone is undertracked by 500k+ (minimal)

As of January 2016, Sony were at 35.9 million. Basically 36M. They have been doing better or or par YOY this year too. Meaning they are still selling around 1M consoles per month.

But you are basically saying that they sold only 2M from January to the end of March? And then XB1 basically sold around 2-3M in same period?

I don't think so.

Damn son.

No they sold 4 million to reatilers in this time period (36million >>>> 40 million)and Xbox sold 2-3 million in the same time(19 million>>>>22 million). XOne is doing better YoY too!
