God thank sterling for Jim.

You forgot to mention that he also added Chains of Love on the video, and he danced to it and gave both fingers to Nintendo and Co.

I hope it works.

YouTube to make changes to Content ID.

Apparently now YouTube will keep the earnings of contested videos and eventually give it to the ones who win the contested copyright claim:

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I lol'd at his troll of these copyright proles. I look forward to hearing his report on how successful he was with this.

So Google will put the money in the bank and earn a bit of interest, which they'll keep, while the antagonists fight it out over who knows how long? Ultimately it advantages the corps, because Nintendo, Konami, Take 2 et al really don't care about getting the money, they just don't want other people making money. So their interest is in dragging the process out until the little guy gives up because the money is locked away.

Not so bad for Jim though, since he's not so reliant on Youtube generated income.

The money should go to the youtuber and then if the claimant (the corp) is successful in their motetisation claim they can garnish a % of future income to the value of the claim in order to funnel the money owed to the claimant. That way youtubers who actually abuse copyright will eventually either mend their ways because their income is being continuously eroded, or they will just disappear, and the companies will stop with the frivolous claims on youtubers who are playing within the rules because they will be getting their money in good time and will not be subject to income erosion since none of the claims will be upheld.

You know, i wish one of the people with an ironclad case that gets screwed by this system would just file a freaking lawsuit.  Like Miracle of Sound, who have had their own work claimed.  And then just tear Google and these lazy pricks at these companies a new one.

What YouTube SHOULD do is limit the power of these systems so that claims and strikes have to be more intentional (to limit the number) and then have there be an actual fine *for the companies* if their claim is successfully countered.  But they won't.  Cause as they have shown time and time again by their actions, they don't actually care about the content creators.
