Man, I thought 13M was bad, but VGC even managed to overtrack that level of poor sales. And VGC still has one week of the previous financial quarter to go.

This quote just came from Kimishima at the investor's briefing.

"The number of Wii U systems sold worldwide has surpassed 12 million."

So I guess VGC is overtracking Wii U by about one million.

That would be an interesting list of consoles. VGC lists 26 gaming platforms for which there is a sales record above zero, and Wii U is #21 on the list. The VGC list has 32 platforms in total (31 if you remove Windows (PC)) which still puts Wii U well into the bottom half.

Op says they shipped 12.8 million as of March 16th.  As of March 19th, chartz has it at 12.93 million which is almost 130k over shipments.  I think its overtracked by around 500k depending on how many are on shelves.

I figured Kimishima was talking about sold through not shipped but maybe you're right.
