Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ni-Oh makes Dark Souls look like easy mode

Holy ish is it hard, but fun... Is like the first time I've played Demon's Souls, but Ni-Oh is much harder than any Souls game so far based on this alpha demo.

I know that there's a thread already but I wanted to highlight the difficulty which sets a whole new standard (well at least since NGB).

5 times harder than Souls series & Ninja Gaiden series. I beat all King's Field series, Shadow Tower & Dark Souls(1 & 2).

And i don't think i can beat this game in the future.... >.>

Yeah its pretty hard and awesome

Welp, now I'm scared.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

OK sweet so it's not just me.

I thought I was slipping.

Yay, another game exploiting the recent internet hype around "hard" (notice the quotes) games and the internet falls for it, again. Just like pixel art/retro graphics became an over-saturated fad in gaming a few years ago, this wannabe Souls thing is next in line. Wish the industry could be more innovative instead of trying to cash in on whatever fad is popular with the internet nowadays.

Dark Souls isn't trying to be hard. It's trying to be punishing. The mantra is "prepare to die," but it really should be "prepare to try."

Ugh looks like I'll scratch this one off my list then. Don't have time for frustration these days...

The question is if the difficulty is fair. I don't think Dark Souls are that hard if you're prepared and you're careful. Based on what I've seen of Ni-Oh, it seems totally unfair sometimes.

If it would be so easy to devolope a souls game why was Fromsoftware the only one who did so until now with Ni-Oh? Hard games arent just a trend this is what alot of games used to be. And a hardgame is more likley to have deep and complex and good gameplay, its easier to devolope an easy game just make it a one button masher and place as less bosses and enmies as possible in the map.
