Another unpopular opinion, Sunshine is a massive turd. Worst Mario game by miles. Same and repetitive scenarios over and over again, awful camera, and it's actually the opposite of "fun". I'm a massive Mario fan, I was completely devastated when I played that game. 

i also 100% agree i got sunshine on release and was heavily let down coming from the varied worlds of Mario 64 to the more linear and same feeling stages of Sunshine was a massive let down and to top it all off sunshine only had 1/2 the amount of stages mario 64 had and mario 64 came out 6 or 7 years before it!

Also yes Ive had VGC  be unstable.

I honestly think its abit overrated. Its got a insanely high metacritic score, and I dont think its close to being the best mario game out there.

 

You didn't like the game? Did you play it alone or with people? Because I played it with my brothers and I can't imagine playing it alone and get the same enjoyment.

I guess that is REALLY AN Unpopular Opinion calling it underrated not Under appreciated.

If you said it was under appreciated then that would be a popular opinion here on vgc.

I actually enjoyed Sunshine... mainly because I really love the beach enviroments.

I dont get why sunshine gets so much hate.

Agreed. Sunshine is easily the worst 3D Mario. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to go from the epic, varied worlds of Mario 64 to playing as a janitor on a beach resort.

Basically this XD. Also, the level design is weak, the scenarios are not varied, it's very slow-paced for my taste, the cam doesn't work well in some levels... Weakest Mario ever imo.

Funny this topic came up. I just bought 3D World because it finally came down to $20. Only played the first world so far, but I think Ratchet and Clank blows it away. On visuals, gameplay, and story.

OK, again it's a very different type of game from Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy. I love 3d world, it has the Nintendo polish and they did a great job with the difficulty and length/extras. Nintendo took 3D land and made it as good as you can make it I think. I REALLY hope Nintendo does not attempt a sequel to this game, because there is no reason to make one.

Imo mario platformers are always soooooo much better with people to play with. Because it can get compeitive and have those silly mistakes where you kill each other XD
