It's a very fun and polished game, but it's also extremely safe and conservative, and hence not in the same league as Galaxy or 64.

I liked it more than Galaxy as we can all play it together. Nintendo nailed it with co-op in this one, kids can use the cheat suit or mess around on the game pad and we can still move forwards.

The game is actually overrated as it's just another Mario game that does not stand out in anyway. If you take "Mario" out of it than it's not even a successful game or appealing.

More like YOU don't know what makes games great. Your opinion of a great game is subjective, not a fact. Don't be an elist.

Didn't everyone love the crap out of that game? I thought it was only okay, but to each his own.

I always felt it got the respect it deserve. I frankly thought it was grossly unappreciated but not under rated.

Well, even if you dislike it you can't say that doesn't stand out in any way. It's beautiful, it's polished, gameplay is rock solid, levels are varied, they're constantly introducing new gameplay mechanics... Those are facts. Maybe you can find it boring, but that's something everyone can see. Some people pointed to the lack of ambition, and I think that's correct. But there are some things that stand out in this particular game. 

Unpopular Opinion: Super Mario is Overrated.

I don't think so... most people praised it a lot and it got 93 on meta, an amazing score. If anything, I think it's overrated (in my opinion, of course). I expected more than an expanded 3D Land, and I didn't even had much fun while playing it, felt like more of the same... not creative at all.
