Forums - Gaming Discussion - Solution to women's outrage over DoA Xtreme 3

Nothing is needed..

This game is very transparent in its purpose and it's a horribly small niche. Movies and books are allowed erotica, games should be no different. The truth is no one cares aside from those who make a living out of talking about this kind of thing, also the people who spend their time complaining and fighting about the people who complain.

Hunting Season is done...

The funny thing is DOA series is actually my Wifes favourite game on Xbox, she loves fighter games and loves being able to dress them up (her second favourite is Mortal Kombat).

What women? I've mostly seen white male SJWs up in arms over it.

The problem is that there isnt a problem and women want to act like there is. Sex sells products, doesnt it? i live by a policy of- "if it doesnt limit somebody's rights then it probably isnt worth complaining about" in this case women are in the wrong because people have a right to buy video games and from what Ive heard, there wont be a western release due to feminist complaints, meaning this basically censorship.

In short, yes.

Don't i don't think most or even all of the women that don't have an agenda even care.

I've shown my wife DOA videos and she found them extremely amusing.... I think the problem is that people take one or two peoples outrage and uses that as an agenda. Most people just dont care.

As Yerm says when people start dictating what people can and cannot buy or make, for me thats problematic. But again I think the problem is with a small minority who think this has to change because of their perceived values or taste.

I think I heard on twitter today some people getting outraged that the term Master and Slave was being used in computers and wanted it replaced... I mean seriously its all getting pretty stupid these days.

PS Note, I dont own any DOA games, I am not interested in them, but I do believe in the fact that if people want to make a game like this and its not harmful in any way, why not.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

Oh my God, YES

This is something I've been expecting to happen since they announced DOAX3. I mean, I'm not a SJW that asks for equality, but I would think it is nice to have a game like you just described for balance. Guys in spandex/skimpy outfits/rugged MEN outfits doing nothing but men things (fight, arm wrestling, strength struggle, roughhousing, etc.)

However, as very biased I am supporting the idea, I don't think the game would do good as a standalone port. And I don't think it would please the "feminists" who complain about female objectification since to objectify them, they use money and physical appearance. I believe it would cause some outrage from some of the core gamers who hate to see guys in revealing outfits grappling each other in questionable ways.

I pondered heavily on the idea, and I think the least damaging way for the devs would be a DLC. Gamers don't have to buy the DLC and bash the game, and whoever is interested on the game can buy it and buy the DLC, and knowing some people on the internet, they will go to lengths to buy the game just for a DLC like that. Mods on PC is a much better solution, but you'd need a team that works on the mods, so this would take months, years even.

Why would that change the fact that women still get objectified. Two wrongs (if you like to call them  that) doesn't make a right. Even though I think the fuzz about this game is BS. We live in free nations and those have freedom of expression of art and media.(You could call games artistic products in the very same way as movies and music).

As offended as a woman might feel about a game isn't going to change that. So the sollution is too simply ignore those who are buthurt since the developer did nothing wrong. He could make the next installment less woman objectifying but is in no way required to do so or compensate for this game.

If he thinks a standalone port with muscled man can generate a shit ton of money he should make one. But that should be purely out of economical reasons. Honestly I very very much doubt such a product would be successful. But he sure as hell doesn't owe women that game, not in the slightest way imaginal.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I would buy a male version of DOA, not cause i'm gay, I'm just sexually aroused from men.......not gay though :)
