Watched a few videos/reviews.

Very underwhelming, it looks like exactly the same game as SF64, just with updated visuals. Combat looks shallow and dull.

Surprised it isn't in the low 60s. Going to pass on this. Looks like it's TMS and then NX for me

Comedy always makes me laugh...

Is this REALLY the second best wii u title of the year?

A title that struggles to capture everyone's interest with subpar controls, last gen graphics, and short playthrough?

Why do people try to defend this game so much? As a wii u owner, I would definitely want the second best title of the year to be a big hit, not a struggle to remain relevant in light of dark souls 3 or ratchet and clank!

Do people still think the wii u can live for another year?

Have you played it?

From what you wrote my guess would be: no! Go play for a day & then come back talk to me, OK?

Yea I know. But the reviews aren't giving the game an unreasonably low score. They've all provides fair claims (graphics, controls, length, so on), but a lot of posts (especially on this thread) just dismiss them with cop outs. "Gaming journalism is dead", "gaming journalism only likes open world," "journalists need to git gud."

Some people bash starfox for the craziest reasons, but these reviews all give valid claims. So why are the reviewers getting hated on?

Because I guess :

1) There's people being pissed off.

2) Some reviewers weren't willing to go out of their comfort zone and just dissmissed the controls right away. Thus the '' Git gud ''

3) Cause opinions.

1) Being pissed off really isn't a good reason to spread unwanted hate at people or give unfair opinions

2) yes that polygon reviewer was infuriating (basically being unfair to the game which is a no no). But he's the only unfair reviewer I saw and his report didn't affect meta critic if I remember

Yes, my friend got the game, I played starfox with her and another friend. We all agreed it was mediocre. The controls aren't too good (takes time to get used to). Are you honestly going to argue about the graphics on this!

Sorry but then I have to question your gaming skills... I needed about 20 mins of tutorial to get a clue about how the game controls (did & redid & reredid the tutorials until I was satisfied with what I was doing) & then I went down to business, first fly through Corneria I did 246 hits which got me a siver medal, not mindblowing but for a first run I think I did ok! Did you do that??? Did you play with an open mind trying to understand how the controls worked, spending time in the tutorial???

If no, play for day & try to master the game because the controls are really, really good!!! You just need to work a little!!!

Great job on that silver trophy. The high score list is empty, except for the preset score that marks the threshold to get the medal, meaning that you can't do worse than silver.

Yeaaaaah... noooooo....... go play the game instead of saying bull... under 200 hits Bronze medal, 200 to 300 hits Silver medal, over 300 hits you get the Gold medal.

If you know something about StarFox you should know that hits don't come easy, while 246 hits on Corneria isn't a great feat, it isn't something to spit on considering it was my 1st run, not knowing the level & having to figure the new controls for the 1st time in battle.

I guess you did over 500 hits on your 1st run hotshot....?

And it goes the other way around too you know. Our world isn't just Black or White, it's grey.

It just seems kinda weird seeing 6 or 7s as low scores. They're not great per se, but more on the decent side. I mean I've seen more 7s and 6s and a few 8s and a couple 9s from my observation so there are positive responses. This game is considered mostly mixed with a little more positive than negative (to me, negative is below 5).

Star Fox being Nintendo's "big game" of the year ... lets be real ... Nintendo called off the horses on the Wii U a long time ago.

Star Fox, Devil's Third, Mario Tennis, Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival are just filler titles to ride the Wii U out, you'll notice Nintendo did not develop any of these games internally by themselves they're all farmed out.

It's only a small handful of posters here that are naively clinging to the hope that Wii U has any real future left, most of us have accepted the truth.

Right now Nintendo is just like a star athlete who's playing the game at half speed because his team is losing by 50 points and there's no point in getting hurt in the process.

The game's high score lists for individual levels have room for three entries: Gold, Silver and Bronze. That's just a fancy way to say 1, 2 and 3. When you play the game for the first time, there's only one high score in the list of every level. It marks the score you need to beat in order to earn a medal. If you manage to beat it, your score goes in the gold slot and the preset score moves into the silver slot. If you fail to beat it (which is very likely on the first playthrough of a level), your score goes in the silver slot because there's only one score that is better than yours. The bronze slot will always display --- due to the lack of a third score at that time.

If you've played a level several times and already got scores of 338, 331 and 325 before, then a score of 310 will get you neither a gold, silver or bronze entry.

Anywaaayyy... the moral of the story is that being second out of two is nothing to brag about.

You're good @ distorting & derailing subjects, I'll give you that!

"Anywaaayyy... the moral of the story is that being second out of two is nothing to brag about."

To be second @ anything, there needs to be 2 competitors, so you say I'm 2nd out of playing against myself 1 time???

In case you didn't notice, I didn't brag about my score, just pointed the hits I made:"first fly through Corneria I did 246 hits which got me a siver medal, not mindblowing but for a first run I think I did ok".

Rewinding this a little you are the one who crashed rather unelegantly the chat I was having with someone else, I was making a point about the controls & there you came with your ruler, flamboyant in sarcasm measuring my 1st fly in this great game.

Don't worry about my skills playing StarFox or the number of hits I do or don't, it won't change the kind of person you are, good or bad. I think I'm going to do do a fly over doing the less hits possible in order to complete the level, it won't invalidate the point I was making, you know the one you miss when you barged in here with your ruler in hand, that the game controls well when you put a decent effort in trying to understand the control mechanics!

Cheers & rejoice sarcastic one!!!

The moral of the story is that:
