A lot of analysts as well as myself are disappointed with the results; we've been expecting and wanting more.  The reasons for this are usually thought to be the result of the decline of the pc, and software related to it.  You don't have double digit growth in Office anymore, if I remember correctly, it grew just 1% with this report.

As far as myself and my knowledge go, I could care less what you think and please feel free to give as many snide comments in here as you like, after all you're only throwing trash in yo ur own thread, it hurts me none.  I also would just have skipped over this thread if you didn't just cherry pick the facts and slides you gave.  You need to show how the results compare with previous quarters, you should post a few articles analyzing what happened and what to expect from Microsoft in the future.  And if the people that make a similar thread about Sony cherry pick it's results, I'll offer facts that allow one to put the numbers in context as well.  Equal treatment.

Office 365 adoption (subscriptions) grew by 8% or an extra 1.6m users in the last 3 months and has almost doubled in 12 months from 12.4m to 22.2m.

As you have analysed the business very deeply you will know that MS is completely changing its business model and is in a transition to a subscription based model for Office.

This makes your comment about 1% very odd.

And I'm not sure how posting the division people here are interested in and the actual corporation figures (showing a reduction YOY) is cherry picking?

It's absolutely cherry picking bc in what amounts to be a bad report you give only positive facts.  Just do me a favor and realize that some people see past the Rah-Rah cheerleader type of behavior.  And I'll do the same to Sony but it looks like another bad quarter for them which we will see that quite easily in the posts here unless a spin doctor just posts the great stuff about the company.  I hope you get my point.  Also, I just glanced at  the articles talking about the results, I'm not a financial analyst even though I'm somewhat financially literate so it's not something that I'll stake my reputation on.
