Forums - Sony Discussion - Is the outrage towards PS4K proof that console gamers care more about performance and visuals than they're willing to admit?

If these rumors are true, the only people who should be outraged are those who bought a PS4 within half a year of 'Neo' hitting, and then only if they were buying with the idea of getting the most powerful console on the market. There will always be these people for any release.

Regardless, Sony needs to come out and say something with regards to all this before it impacts hardware sales. E3 is still 3 months out, and these rumors aren't going away.

. This is going to fix the graphical problems with the psvr to make it a success and also for Sony to sell most of the 4KTVs. The success of VR is more important for the market as there are many applications that would like to use it.

What graphical problems? Are you just repeating the nonsense from the Web or have you actually used the psvr.

PsVR resolution is already set and the device is being marketed towards the 40million units already out there. NOT ps4k.

I haven't seen any outrage, but I guess most people think that PS4K will get exclusive games and that's why they don't like it, as long as it doesn't everything will be fine.

Dunno what the outrage is exactly.

It's quite clear in my mind that the PS4K is almost entirely being made so that the PS4 can compete with PC on VR. I think that's pretty much the only reason. Developers won't do too much more in terms of graphics because they won't want to ditch that 40 million userbase.

If that's true then Sony just put the kibosh on Psvr selling well, because according to you the 40million ps4's are insufficient to run VR, and we all need the ps4k to have the ideal experience.

A two tired console generation just creates two classes of citizen, and that never turns out well.

But this is just not  true. You only need the upgrade if you want really really high fidelity graphics in VR.

Everything we have been shown so far has been running on regular PS4 hardware.

The fact that they want to release this stronger PS4 despite all the backlash and being number 1 in sales shows more than enough why Sony is best console manufactor.

Ideals > Money
They truly want to make PlayStation the best Place to Play

So Nintendo would be No. 1 because they hate money.

It sounds like you have cherry picked responses.  What I read tends to be positive.  Your generalizations are unwelcome.  But regardless I really am satisfied with my PS4 and given the chance I may choose to upgrade if this is true.  It is as simple as having options. This does nothing but enhance what you can get from Playstation.  And all games are compatible so it's nice to have that if I ever feel I need it.

The base model still out preforms the competition at any rate.

One reason less for an upgrade, then.

Exactly.  Digital Foundry faceoffs are gonna get real bad for the Xbox One by the way.  Imagine when the Nx comes out lol.  You will have a four way split screen with PS4, PS4+, Nx all probably beating the Xbox One.  Microsoft obviously has one option, drop the price.

I completely agree.

Feels that way to me. All these years the power of the PS4 was totally fine and the games look AMAZING and the human eye can't see faster than 24fps.

Stopped reading here.  That comment is completely false.  The human eye doesn't work like a TV.  But, that number is closer to 72.  Not 24.  What would be the point in having monitors that do 60 fps, if we can only see a fraction of the output?  Fighting games, and other games required to run at 60FPS, because it's built into the game mechanics themselves, would be impossible to play.

I mean it doesn't get much more obvious than that.
