I'm lucky enough to own these two terrific fighting games on my Wii U, and I'm having a hard time seperating the two. Whilst Smash has the fun factor, nostalgia and ridiculous amount of content, Pokken boasts incredibly fluid fighting mechanics and genuine strategic moments like when to shift phase etc. 

Smash has the more robust single player experience, whilst Pokken boasts a smoother online experience. Help me out fellow Nintendo fans, which of these games deserves to be crowned The king of Wii U fighter.

Pokken by default because we all know smash is not a fighting game (jk ).

This is a hard question, but I'm going with smash simply because of the roster. I like pokemons but not as much as Samus, Lucina, Pac-Man, Ryu, Cloud, etc.

Pokken Is very impressive, but smash is, smash, so you know.

I haven't played Pokken, but I'd probably say Smash regardless.

I'll take Smash. Pokken's online is MUCH better than Smash's, but that's just about the only area it wins in. Both Pokken and Smash are...really in dire need of some balance patches, but Smash has a far more diverse roster which somewhat excuses it, far more robust single player offerings, options for up to 8 players to join in, and has far more choices for playing casually.

Pokken is a great game for sure, but I'm not the biggest fan of Pokemon, so I'm not exactly fond of any characters, unlike Smash where I can play some of my fav characters, such as Shulk, Marth, and Corrin.
