I just looked up the numbers and - is this right? - Splatoon has to date outsold Halo 5? 

There's much less competition on WiiU but, still, that's surprising.

Lol this was done before black ops 3 was even announced.  I correctly predicted bo3 would be the next cod (fairly obvious)  but I also predicted Sony would get the market deal,  hence a bundle.  

It was a big factor in my prediction.  

As I said you're all wise after the fact but I was wise before it.  Call me a visionary! 

VGC numbers for Splatoon are likly a tad overtracked, considering they are very close to the shipped+digital numbers Nintendo gives us, while VGC is sold through, retail only, but Splatoon will probably end up ahead of Halo 5 either way, so yeah.

This is an incredible feat by splatoon and a big let down for halo.  If anyone called splatoon outselling halo I want to see it.  And I don't mean after the game released.  That would be the greatest prediction of all time! 

Halo 5 was a dissapointing game from every angle, underwhelming sales and underwhelming reviews from a main line Halo.

Franchises cant rely on their names only, quality must be enssured to keep the interest going and capturing new fans along the road.

Look at what happened to Assassins Creed and other famous games, they have been on the decline because the quality is just not there.

Im honestly afraid about Gears 4.

The studio swap from Microsoft with their biggest franchises have not ended with good results.

What a massacre, jesus Halo numbers are not bad 4m is ALOT OF COPIES but Cod is a monster.

Hey charterz, Interesting anecdote:
Last month in the US, Sony sold 301k BO3 bundles. This was actually more than copies of the retail game.
What conclusions can we reach:

1. Sony wants COD to be associated with PS4.
2. Sony want to proliferate COD. Its the first COD I have played in over 5 years
3. By have a damn near 100% attach rate to the PS4 over the last few months, it is safe to assume that PS4 will win the non bundle retail COD sales next November with little effort.
4. Contrary to what point 3 might have you believe, Sony will bundle the next game... probably with the slim PS4k.

I get what you are saying, but you can't talk about overtracked only for Splatoon.

It's obvius that even Halo 5 is overtracked, and by a good margin... overtracked in USA, Germany, France, and UK, according to GFK and NPD.

Yeah could be. I dunno as much about Halo 5, but Splatoon has some very easily accessible sources that confirms it's overtracked (Nintendo Investor Relations page).
