Forums - Nintendo Discussion - It's been almost 3 years and Wind Waker HD is still $50+ in the US

It's been almost 3 years since Wind Waker HD launched, and it's still almost full price in the US. I've seen this game above price, even.

GameStop - $59.99 PREOWNED

Walmart - $45.85

Target - $49.99

Amazon - $51.31 New

There aren't even any physical copies available at Best Buy or Toys"R"Us, and none new at GameStop.

It's absolutely unacceptable that the game has been out for 2.5 years and yet it's doesn't cost much less than full price. You can find copies of major Nintendo games that came out not even a year ago for less, like Super Mario Maker. Obviously, we all know that Nintendo games rarely drop in price, but this one is way behind the times, considering there are very few Wii U games that you can find for above $50 or so as of now. And now the situation is even worse because Wii U Nintendo Selects is now a thing, and this game is not a part of that line-up here in North America. It is in Europe, but not here.

I just want to shell out a reasonable amount of money for a physical copy of the game. Nintendo needs to do some restocks, because I can't remember the last time I saw this game in store. Hopefully those restocks will be under the Nintendo Selects banner..

EDIT: Also, if I see one more person talking down to me and attempting to explain to me how Nintendo's pricing works, I'm going to shoot myself in the foot, I swear to god. I already know this, so that's clearly not the problem here and you should know it. Read the OP. Please.

Yeah so ?? These are NINTENDO GAMES not 3rd party games. Their price never goes down. This is also a Zelda game too btw. Still worth its price

Yup this really suck tbh. I got my copy for free when my sister got a Wii u got her birthday in 2014 with mario kart I picked WW HD for her and used it for my wii u. Anyway these prices are ridiculous for Nintendo 1st party games.

Well, I've payed 0 Euros, I "bought" it with the MK8 promotion so I really can't complain about it XDDD. Joking, you are right but Nintendo games don't usually lower their price. I guess that's because they have legs, or they think it's more profitable that way, God knows.

That's normal for Nintendo 1st party games.

Isnt it only £25 in Europe right now as part of Nintendo Selects?

I was super excited when I saw it was 25 and then realized it was EU only ;-; its a HD remaster of a game thats over a decade old! It really needs to go down in price here. At least have it at $40 ;-;

Yep it's dumb and has been keping me from buying it. Nintendo Selects Wave 2 hopefully.

I got it for free with MK8 and sold my GC version for over 30 €. So I upgraded for -30 €. ;)
