Absolutely horrible, Have had an astigmatism since I was born and have pretty severe myopia. Have worn glasses my whole life and couldn't see a darn thing without them

Last time it was checked it was 20/20. It's seemingly held up well since, though I do occasionally feel as though it might be slipping up ever so slightly. Someone once said if you have good eyesight and put on the glasses of someone with "bad" eyesight, how it looks through their glasses is how it looks for them without their glasses. Anyone know if there is any truth to that?

As a person who went from having 20/20 to being legally blind I can tell you that from my experience, it isnt true. How you see through glasses may not be clear but it's a different kind of blurry. But how everyone has bad vision varies from person to person so perhaps it's true for some people. But in my own experience in my pre-bad vision days, what I saw did not reflect the reality of what bad vision is really like

You needed the option for "#$%^"

I get tested every April. Last year, it was 20/20 but i admit I did cheat and look at the eye chart before the test because I knew what they were going to ask. Heh, heh. Suckers.

My eyesight isn't as bad as some people I know but I have a hard time telling distant fine details or lettering

-4.25. Can't read point 12 text on my 4 inch phone more than a foot away. Can barely see people's faces clearly 2 feet away. But i can play my 3DS game several inches away !

To anyone on the fence of getting glasses cause it's still 'fine' although distant detail or doctor said etc etc, just get them. I had contacts until my eyes didn't like them anymore (always dry and painful) so I got used to not having corrective vision for a few years. You cope, you think it's fine, you don't know any better. So what it takes a bit longer to read highway signs etc, they get closer anyway. Getting a 21" monitor (CRT days, huge) and using a projector to play FF7 should have been a clear sign :)

Anyway finally giving in, it was an amazing experience to see clearly again after all that time. A world of detail opened up I didn't think possible. How can my brain process all that information at once. I was literally simply walking outside to marvel at all the detail. Never again without.

Glasses aren't perfect though, hard to keep clean and free of scratches. Contacts are out and I'm not sure about eye surgery in the long term. I'm getting measured for new glasses this Monday (nasty scratch on my current one right in the middle) looking forward to it.

Fuck contacts, there is nothing normal about having plastic resting directly against your eyeballs.  It's fuckin wierd, uncomfortable, and yeah they do dry out.  I could never wear them and not look like I was hammered, stoned, or both.

After my cockatoo got to it no idea lol.

Sometimes 20/20 when it reinfects bad.
