I know vgc has a fairly diverse audience of all genders, sexualities, religions, and cultures.  I'm  a black, heterosexual male from the United States.

Anyway, I wanted to get you guy's opinion on an issue that's making the rounds in my area.  Men who identify themselves as women (and vice versa, I assume) are pushing for the right to use women's bathrooms.  Personally, I just use the bathroom to piss and shit. Male bathrooms have urinals.  I have a penis. I can pee standing up so I go into the men's room. That's it, really.

With the current debate going on, it would be okay for people born with male (autocorrect  just changed the word "male" to "make" FOUR times!) sex organs to go into female rest rooms without consequence.  Personally, I don't think that's okay. 

I'll post my thoughts on the matter, both serious and light hearted, later on. I have errands to run. If love to hear your thoughts on the matter, though.

I think the solution, especially in schools, is to have genderless bathrooms (replacing the men's room). That way women still get their own bathroom (because apprently it really matters to them) and men as well as transgender can use the genderless bathroom.

This should apply the same way they currently do with prison.

I think so. Otherwise you have the reverse of transgendered men using the womans and transgenered women using the mens.

What between your legs isn't visible so isn't really responsible for causing much awkwardness/disconfort. I think the gender which someone represents themselves as is whats actually going to cause discomfort. 

He would have to use the female bathroom, I wouldn't blame any women if that made them uncomfortable.


In my experience Unisex bathrooms are superior. They're also the only way to really get over the issue.

Sexual assault and indecent exposure is already illegal. Transgendered people should be able to use the restroom they feel most comfortable with.

This entire thing is nothing but a political battleground with very little real world significance. There should only be an issue if someone is attempting to invade someone else's privacy, in which case gender doesn't actually matter. No one should be trying to peep into your stall, male or female.

What really annoys me is how people are acting like this is the most important event since segregation ended. It's not.

Yes, transgendered people should be able to use the restroom of the gender the ID with.

What ever gender you identify yourself as doesn't matter imo. If you have a cock go to the mens if not you go to the womens.

No. My colleges solution was a genderless bathroom. A lot less grey area that way
