Forums - Movies & TV - Standalone Batman film confirmed, will be directed by and star Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck will direct and star in an upcoming standalone Batman film.

Rumors about a "Batfleck" standalone movie began circulating last July, but the news was officially confirmed by Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara at CinemaCon today. News of the reveal at CinemaCon was first reported by Mashable, and later confirmed for IGN by a Warner Bros. spokesperson.

According to Mashable, Affleck took the stage after Tsujihara's opening words during the Warner Bros. presentation to voice his enthusiasm about the film and future ones, stating, "It's been tremendously exciting for us to be a part of the DC Universe, and we're looking forward to working on Justice League."

Matt Damon as the Joker confirmed.

It'll show why his parts were the only well directed parts of BvS action and acting wise.

I am Iron Man

Ben Affleck is one of the best and most consistent directors out there and one of the few capable of making a blockbuster that is also a good movie.

lets hope WB let him do his vision of the batman without dictating him what to

People may not have thought BvS was very good, but one of the things that has recieved forum-wide praise is Ben Affleck's Batman. He's also done some pretty good work in other movies as an actor, writer, and director.

Ooh, sounds good.

I saw this earlier, I'm really glad it's been confirmed. I'm guessing this is going to be DC's untitled Oct 2018 film. Also, this is easily my most anticipated DC film, especially with Affleck and Geoff Johns co-writing the script.
