Digital games is not the future. Is it a part of the future? Yes. Because gamers should have options if they want to use physical copies or digital copies but frankly, digital games are a ripoff. To each their own.

Disc, is the most unpractical, slow, small, unreliable, fragile, non ecological and quite expensive way of storing data... It's gonna die zero doubt about that.... And it's existence is one of the reasons digital on console is still so expensive....

Get real.  Gamers/InternetFanbois could be all happy smiley faces about a disc-less console, especially if offered as parallel option...
Problem still remains retail channel partners... If MS wants them to sell off their own future, Sony (and Ninty) has a new model that can fill shelves.

Except retail is also going down the drain.... I haven't bought a device over a 100 bucks at retail over a decade... The only retail that will survive are the one backed up by a descent online store... Retail point serving the only purpose of a showroom or within the hour pickup.... It's already happening... A few big names will be bankrupt or close to it within a decade if they don't shift their business model...
