Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is Uncharted 4 the first game that looks better than real life?

Not talking about hyperrealism

I mean are the stylized animations, environments a better representation than their real life counterparts, emotions etc, do we want real life to look like UC4 or vice versa? The game is neither cartoony nor too realistic, I think it sits in the goldilocks zone. Discuss.

No, that'd be Gran Turismo 5.

Looks amazing but we aren't there yet.

Looks great, are those gifs from a movie? I don't know why but these guys look familiar, but can't remember the movie I've seen them.

You must have not been outside much then, or seen Planet Earth.

But no, I get what you're saying, and yes, Uncharted 4 looks ridiculously good in every aspect. The art- and set-designs are out of this world for sure.

Not sure if any game can look "better than real life."

With that said, the game definitely looks outstanding, and I certainly can't wait for it to come out.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Nah, I can still tell it's a game. There are few games that have made me question its existence and this isn't one of em.

It looks outstanding, that's for sure, but not "better than real life". It's a long way until we could say that (if ever :P).

I would have to say that The Order 1886 gave me that feeling already
