I'm lvl 20 in game. Anyone want to try bosses some time? However, we should be high lvl because they have a lot of health and eat damage like sponges. We'll need to be high lvl and beefy to do it.

How does the laboratory work exactly?

This is mostly where you get new items. You use discs you get from completing some sets of relics on certain missions. You can also get them from the shop using medals you get in missions. You use them on gear you want and hope you can unlock them. There's a chance you fully unlock the item, but when you fail, it adds 2 points to the item as 'progress', so you can either unlock gear by slowly filling the bar, or unlocking by chance. The higher the quality of the item (determined by stars) the more you would need to invest in it.

And... yeah, that's about all the lab does. Hopefully you get the items you want!

Also, I think yellow dics unlock the item automatically, but I think you can only buy yellow discs. Hope this helps!

Oh yeah, it's possible to get new weapons in missions. Rare enemies (They glow a light blue) sometimes drop long cases which gives weapons. So, there's another way to get new weapons...

You are a rockstar! Thank you! It was confusing to me.

Do you have the same random chance of unlocking a two-star weapon and a four-star weapon?

Downloaded the full game. Played through the tutorial again and a mission.

I don't know if it's just playing as a different character but this seems a little better to me.

Just curious what was the first character and then the  second you played that you though was more fun?

I guess that the relic you get is totally random? Also, are the rewards unlimited or you get a set amount of them?

I might try some bosses once I reach level 25. I think they're pretty brutal if you try to beat them before.

Also, it seems like upgrading current weapons in the workshop might be more effective than gambling for new weapons in the laboratory. What do you think?

I picked Sayuri first, and then Dwayne. The projectile fighters seem more fun to me.

In general, I'm enjoying this more than during the beta.

Leveling up to 10 makes a big difference. All the shops open up, missions become more difficult, and enemies become faster and more numerous.

It's still REALLY rough around the edges, but it does get better.

I played each character through the tutorial and did a mission after that on each in the beta and Yea I agree Sayuri definatly feels really slugish her melee attacks seem to take an eternity for the animation to finish and doesn't seem smooth to play but her SMG feels real powerful :)

Dwayne is very powerful I thought but controls completely different to everyone else I had a few moments where I would get stuck due to slow turn speed/reloading (Maybe I missed a sensitivity slider but I couldn't fine one) On the melee side of things the Shadow Stalker was the most fun for me as the melee hits seems to chain smoothly unlike Sayuri and her long animations and I enjoy having both weapons equiped at the same time so not having to bother swapping them out and although the Shotgun did seem really week I imagine thats due to still using the starter weapon compared to the Blue axe you get from the tutorial.

All this might change as you unlock skills to increase the pace of the attacks and combos but never got that far with the character yet.

The game does seem basic but seems there is some fun to be had in it also.

I am fairly certain it's the same chances with the higher level items as well. I tried unlocking a lvl 3 item (I think it was 500 points) and I was able to get it with a couple of tries. I haven't tried it with a Gold Star one because it takes 1900 points to unlock. Maybe when I get further with the game I'll try it out...

Also, I think it's a good idea to slowly invest in lvl 2 gear while looking for better weapons, at least until it's at a good enough level. I think I may slowly invest in my current weapons to their max levels. I got lvl 3 gear but couldn't use it anyways. I think characters have a certain number of points they can use to carry weapons, and lvl 3 items exceeded my limit. I'm not sure how this works yet. Maybe it increases slowly as you lvl up.

I would also recommend buying tools from the shop (one of them on decrypting) and lvling them up to lvl 10 at least (I just put 10 ore into them) This will help tasks like pushing, repair, etc, by making it faster.  It's handy for getting the door to the relic quicker. As for the 2nd, choose which ever you like. I use repairing since that seems most available. I don't remember all the names at the top of my head, but the one for pushing is the power glove. You should be able to find them in the shop.

Yeah, I am certain the relic you get is random, which is annoying when you're trying to get that last 1 and you get so many repeats... You just gotta be lucky : /

The 1st and 3rd rewards I figure are items such as new clothes (only recolors so far) and weapons. After that I think they just repeat, so you could farm for ore and discs maybe, but they give so little it seems pointless to do. Better to just get medals.

And yeah, bosses are haaaard. I couldn't do it even past lvl 20 @_@

So there's no point in going after a 4rd reward since you can get medals easily? Noted so I won't waste more time in collectables xD. Also, yeah, it sucks that the relics are random. I think it's based on which version of the level you get. I tried to "cheat" that system by going solo and re-starting the level each time I don't get the version I want, but it doesn't seem to work XD. I got the same level 20 times in a row, so maybe I was just extremely unlucky.

Also, the items you mention before to do the tasks quickly are worth it? I mean, you can improve that on the abilities tree if I'm right.

I'm not sure if it's not worth going past the 3rd reward, but I think I recall the rewards did not change after the 4th and it wasn't worth the effort. I could be wrong and there are more rewards after that, but it gets boring doing the early missions over and over.

You can do solo to try to get the other relics faster if you're strong enough, but I don't think there's a way to get the relics you want easier.

I think they are worth it. It makes progressing through the lvls much quicker and avoid getting swarmed by enemies. And you don't have to wait around for long. You only have to invest a little into them too. You don't have to worry about the tools interfering with the ability trees. Those just focus on your skills, and other improving things. There's no improving using tools there (unless it's with a different character. I only use Sayuri, so I only know her skills)
