I've never been a big fan of Gears PvP because I suck. But I'm having a blast with Gears 4 Co-op Team Deathmatch.
I shouldn't have any trouble hitting level 20, I'm already level 8 and its day one.

I just love the idea of it. Great mode, especially for newcomers.

Yeah, newcomers and casual players that enjoy the gameplay but not necessarily brutal competition.
Its fun because the AI is really good. They don't feel like mindless enemies we generally see in horde mode and the gameplay moves faster. It feels like something the series should have always had.

I started co-op TDM to see what it's like. 45 minutes later...
I'm hooked. I could play this ALL DAY.

Between Gears 4 co-op and Halo 5 Warzone Firefight beta, MS has delivered some of my favorite co-op multiplayer experiences ever.
Looking forward to the final releases of that content.

Seems I'm one of the launch players who didn't get a code, Just my luck :(
Nice to see that a few of you are finding the beta good.
From the Gears forum:
"We have an update for everyone.
Microsoft Operations had an issue this morning with their code drop and unfortunately the codes will not be distributed in chronological order as originally messaged. We will be doing another code drop this evening to help address some of the issues. As noted before, codes will be going out in waves as we ramp up our servers through the beta.
Starting tomorrow morning (pacific time), we will be sending out a higher volume of codes to help compensate for this change and due to server stability seen during Day 1 of our beta.
This change and volume will carry on through Wednesday and Thursday morning (pacific time) which will cover off on everyone for early access.
We apologize for the confusion during this process and we are looking forward to seeing everyone in-game during the beta.

A few thoughts on the beta.
Feels like gears 3 minus the sawn off and retro lancer. I assume this is how they're doing the short turn around from announcement to release
Still one of the best sets of cover mechanics in the business. Silky smooth compared to countless other games.
It's still a gnasher fest if that's not your thing though.
I'm still bog average at gears multiplayer lol
Didn't realise there was a vs computer mode, definitely going to try that out to see if I can hone my skills a bit more
