Forums - Website Topics - Too many advertisements

This is an issue I have not encountered until recently, however, VGChartz has more advertisements now than it once did.
There are times when I am on the home page and I am unable to click on the Forum Hot Tops side bar, because it is buried beneath multiple adds with no way to hide them (adblock is a solution, but it shouldn't be). I understand that these advertisements bring in revenue, however, when they become intrusive and they cause an unnecessary level of difficulty to maneuver through the website - is quite frankly absurd.

I have also noticed the website has a lot more slowdown now. So I thought I would use my analysis tool, and lo and behold! This site runs at a staggering low rate. 67% of websites on the internet run faster at this current time.

Are any of these issues a concern to anyone else?

its been bad for a while, but now its worse. It is literally unnavigatible on mobile. My business network blocks gaming sites so I cant go on VGC at work, and mobile is a mess.

At home its workable, but yes the advertisements are a bit much. I get they want to create some revenue but I have been on porn sites that are easier to navigate.

I have tried to use VGChartz my phone... and it just crashed haha. Whereas if I use my PC, like you said, it is workable... barely.

Navigating the site has become a nightmare.

This does not even account for the incredible slowdown. I swear I can have multiple videos playing at once on other websites and they load faster. Is the coding also outdated? I just find it all baffling.

Don't bother. Money comes first.

They've put all these ads to try to make people upgrade to "supporter" status.

This is as lame as it gets.

As much as you don't want to, either get AdBlock or become a supporter, to get rid of the ads. The site doesn't really seem to run that slow for me.

You have been on this site for almost seven years. How are you not classified as a supporter? You have been posting on the threads, therefore bringing in traffic and so forth. The whole pay to have a decent experience is obscene. How many websites actually follow that thought process? "Lets make more ads, and make the site slow and difficult to navigate. Because of this, people will have to upgrade and give us money directly, regardless of how long they have been members on this site supporting us".

For example of how outrageous this is: YouTube, now introducing more advertisement to crush viewers experience. Never fear dear viewer! Despite the fact we were already earning money from the previous advertisements, by upgrading our sort to adopt more advertisements and gain even more money, lets get your money so you can use a stable version of our site.

Hotel.com is the worst offender. The exact same ad appears on numerous parts of the same page. It also tends to cover up the forum tab. Fuck you Hotel.com.

Use Adblock.

Reload the page and cancel/stop loading before the ads load.
