Yeah, but it was still popular at some point during the 7th gen
Plus all the re-releases of the older games sold well. Pretty sure the PS1 games when re-released on PS3 were at or near the top of the PSN charts for a long long time, as well as doing very well with the Steam releases.

Oh, you mean the whole FF series? I feel like it's hard to read how FF did last gen. It certain didn't seem as big and loud as it was before. It seemed like it was just kind of there, going through an awkward phase during 7th gen.

I share similar sentiments towards FF13 with the knee jerk reactions, but with all due accuracy it wasn't a bad game by any means. It was just a bad FF game and FF games demand excellence at minimum to be considered a good FF game. No exceptions considering the bar it raised between FF6-10.

I can't even say it was a good game at all. From my experience with it, it was a terribly designed game that was just a mess. Pretty much everything about it was done poorly, from the story to the characters to even the battle system. It was a game that had almost nothing good going for it, except good visuals and a good soundtrack.
