I'm not saying there's anything wrong with shorter games, It's just striking that the reviews docked it points for being short, there were dozens and dozens of articles and you couldn't go in a single The Order thread without it being full of 'games too short' comments. The Order was destroyed by the media but clearly they want this game to be successful, which it likely deserves of course. |
Probably has more to do with The Order having absolutely zero replay value whatsoever while QB has multiple story paths you can experience on different playthroughs, and engrossing gameplay. Also, who says the games are the same length? I platinumed The Order in less than 6 hours. That's one play through, and then going back for trophy cleanup. QB takes longer than that on one play through.
As for the comparison, meh. Order was more hyped, and a 63 is a long ways off a 78. Plus The Order has been $20 on a much larger install base for a good while now :)

Yeah the media is biased in favour of the Xbox One.... Come on, at least lets have serious discussions. I dont think just the length of The Order was the issue. OT QB was received farrrr more positively than The Order. The comparison is bogus. QB reviews: 77% positive. 18% mixed. 5% negative. TO reviews: 32% positive. 56% mixed. 12% negative. The overall rating from Metacritic can be misleasding. 77% of reviews were positive about QB, thats decent.

I never said that. I said (and repeat for reading comprehension): It just goes to show how the media either get behind a title or not.
Thanks.
The PS5 Exists.
Very similar games with a similar demise... I don't know. It's hard to say. Overall I prefer the characters and setting from The Order. I see more of a future in it. Lots of potential for a franchise.

So my playthrough of the order on hard was 5 and a half hours. My playthrough of quantom break on normal was 9 hours and 50 minutes. While almost ten hours is on the shorter side, there is short, and then there's the order...

Is the series attached to it a high quality? I've seen one episode and it wasn't too bad.

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...
Quantum Break will not sell 'well'. It will be discounted before the end of the month and may only be on the NPD because its the closest thing to a AAA exclusive on XOne for months in every direction. Furthermore it will sell under 300k on NPD. Comparing it to a game that at best was a misunderstood critical failure is also kinda like trolling QB. "Oh can QB sell more than this perceived failure?" And it probably wont but AT LEAST compare it to something like Ratchet and Clank... at least they release the same month. Actually, I know why, because no one think QB can beat Ratchet.
