Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Star Fox Zero previewers have been negative on the controls

Having 2 screens is nice, but it definitely is hard to keep up

In Splatoon, there is the map on the gamepad, but I barely look at it when I'm playing (unless I'm dead of course).

The NDS/3DS is better in that the screens are close together so even if you focus on one screen, your peripheral vision can see what's happening on the other. The TV + Gamepad isn't really like that so I can see why

Hey, if the controls are too much for you to handle early on there's always baby mode :D

But seriously, I'm not surprised. A lot of the best motion-heavy games seem to have a learning curve to my experience. I mean, if you've NEVER controlled a game like this before, you can't really expect to get it immediately.

Though on the other hand, this does seem to be antithesis to what Star Fox has been in the past, which is a game that is easy to pick up, but difficult to master without a combination of tight reflexes and memorization. I can kind of understand the disappointment of anyone who was expecting something like this.

Personally, I've always been up for the challenge in these types of games, because I find the end result to be unique and rewarding. Red Steel 2 and Zelda Skyward Sword are great examples of this imo.

How much time did these reviewers put into the game?

Another preview, this one is from Eurogamer Spain https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DTqmlzVZJI

It says he was really pleased with the game, he thinks the new controls are innovative, well designed and he was already addicted to the game within the first hour of gameplay, he thinks is not gonna be a problem for anyone once they have it and they get used to. He also highlights the rythym of the gameplay and the huge amount of variety while playing.

It's funny. What I said before about graphics are perfectly stated on this video comments! XDDD. "It looks like a PSOne game". Lolwut.

The "this looks like a GC game" comments back then were really funny too.

Lol the people saying it have probably never seen a ps1 or gamecube let alone played one lol

I wonder if we'll get a demo for this. I would like to test the control myself before buying it.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

The game is so short and still the controls needs time to "click". Lolworthy, Miyamoto.

Short? Are we forgetting about replayability factor? Or the fact that this SF game has a length of a SF game? XD
