If true, I'll be disappointed - unless the NX can boost its power some other way, which certain patents have suggested. Or if the NX is a handheld, I'll be more than pleased with that CPU

A handheld won't have a CPU that's more powerful than the PS4/Xbone's lol.

Yeah, I know, but I'm living on hope here. If the NX is slightly more powerful than the PS4, Nintendo will have big troubles yet again. Unless it's a hybrid of some kind

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I was expecting, and kind of hoping for NX to be a weak, $250 system. Nintendo games don't need spectacular hardware, and I already have a midrange PC for multiplats. I would've bought the thing at launch, which is something I have never done. Hopefully they can keep the price at $300. Any more and they run a serious risk of repeating the Wii U's mistake.

In 2016-2017, those specs are not cutting edge and should be cheap to produce.

Sweet now lets see if NX games will noticeably be better than PS4/XB1 because that's the only thing that actually matters in this console war.

I find comparing specs between consoles to be such a minuscule debate where it really just comes down to the games. It's not like a huge gap compared to consoles vs PC.

IMO Wii U games are on pair or better than PS4/XB1 games despite Wii U is so much weaker, hardware really doesn't effect on that if games are good or bad.

The guy seems a bit biased, by the way. I mean, he's expecting the NX to be a high end mid range PC power. Nobody is expecting that. And I prefer them to keep it cheap. Good mid range PC is enough, because Nintendo games are not that demanding, and if it has the same power as PS4/One, third parties could jump in the NX bandwagon (no excuses now because of console power). Also, the comment about the prize? What the hell? Nintendo is not precisely the company which makes the consoles pricier. WiiU, maybe, because of the Gamepad, which is rather expensive. Another guy implying Nintendo fans are "fanboys" and that we will bit it up for 400$. There's no way the console will cost more than 350 (my bet will be 300, but who knows). Unless Nintendo lost their minds. That's nice. Fuck off. Anybody expecting a one generational jump right now is a bit crazy. There's no point in doing that.

Satoru Iwata himself said ones that the only reason what held back Nintendo Wii U was not the price, it was the less 3rd party support! And I agree with him, if people want something really bad than the price doesen't matter! Kid buy today 600 Dollar Smartphones or 500 Dollar Tablets, if they really want it they buy it. And thats the reason why Nintendo really should release a more powerfull console for 400 or even 500 Dollar. If it's a cool console with alot of power than people will buy it also for 1000 Dollar ;)

Wrong. You are totally wrong if you think that less 3rd party support is only thing that held back Wii U, Wii U was bloody mess, and high price compared to competition is definitely one of reasons why Wii U failed. You need to realise when Wii U launched had similar power like PS3/Xbox360, played exactly same multiplatform games without almost any difference (actually some 3rd party games worked and looked worse on Wii U) while had around $100 higher price point than PS3/Xbox360, even now Wii U is just $50 less expensive than PS4/XB1, and thats just crazy. Also Miyamoto stated that Wii U had higher price than they wanted.

Nintendo needs to release console that have similar price point like competition, if they have better hardware or they offer some cool new feature they could price it little above ($50), but point is they need to have similar price like competition if they offering similar things.

Saying that, Nintendo can release NX at end of 2016. with hardware little stronger than PS4 and to have price of $299, and $299 price point for console is magic price.

This makes no sense whatsoever.

So you think that Nintendo making the NX anymore than $300 would be repeating the Wii U's mistake, but making the hardware weak as fuck WOULDN'T be repeating the Wii U's mistake?

Come on bruh.  You got it backwards.

I doubt the majority of console gamers would notice if Nintendo used a slower CPU than the Playstation 4, heck even the Playstation 3 in real gaming scenario's.
It's generally not what draws the pretty pictures on the screen and used in advertising.

True, but i'm giving them a little extra for whatever quirky and expensive controller they come up with this time.

X1 and the PS4 have the same CPU. However the X1's CPU runs at 1.75Ghz, the PS4's CPU runs at 1.6Ghz.

Really? Learn something new everyday :P

Considering AMD was using 28 nm technology to make both the PS4 and XBO's APU, it wouldn't be hard to create a fairly better chip as the industry moved to 14-16 nm process. In that way, Nintendo could ship a console not only more powerful but also with a lower thermal profile than Sony and Microsoft.

I think the rumor is a fake. Still, it can be right.

That's good, very good actually. And I find weird the reactions here... lots of people saying that means nothing or that this is not enough. First of all, Nintendo tends to use good GPUs and weak CPUs. If NX's CPU is this good, the GPU will certainly be better than both X1's and PS4's for sure. I wonder what the reactions would be f the rumor stated that the CPU was weaker...

Oh well, this clearly showed me that people will find reasons to complain once Nintendo finally announces the thing at E3 (or close to it). Seems like the internet is expecting a generational leap over PS4/X1, even releasing after just 3 years, while being cheaper than competetion... .-.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won
