No it will not matter from day 1. As Nintendo does not have good third party support. Not that many will be excited about it IMO. Its not gonna have that big of effect on gamming markets and people are getting uppity over not much IMO. The gaming industry is really stable and not much has changed since the 90's in terms of major players, there has always been Sony and Nintendo and a third company. Sony does well in console relm while Nintendo does well in the handhelds and the third company tries to get market share.

What tablets have been announced that have 1.3+ terraflops of gpu performance and 8 core 1.6 ghz x86 class cpu performance. There are none. ARM cpus even at the same ghz and number of cores will have about 1/3 the performance of a similar x86/powerpc cpu.

You forget that Wii U also had 4x more RAM.

At end Wii U has much better stronger GPU with twice amount of RAM than PS3/Xbox 360 but somehow slower CPU and RAM, so  Wii U have similar power like PS3/Xbox 360 and even slightly above.

If rumor of NX being ARM is true, this is expected. ARM is kicking ass. Problem is porting will be harder on this new architecture, unless they plan porting mobile games.

And the deal-breaker will be GPU, most precisely, PS4K GPU vs NX GPU. I would bet PS4K would win, since sony wants to leverage VR, which is very GPU demanding.

If it is noticeable, It isn't running on Jaguar or Puma. But 8350 is really wide margin to guess from eight 1.6x Jaguar cores...

The guy seems a bit biased, by the way. I mean, he's expecting the NX to be a high end mid range PC power. Nobody is expecting that. And I prefer them to keep it cheap. Good mid range PC is enough, because Nintendo games are not that demanding, and if it has the same power as PS4/One, third parties could jump in the NX bandwagon (no excuses now because of console power). Also, the comment about the prize? What the hell? Nintendo is not precisely the company which makes the consoles pricier. WiiU, maybe, because of the Gamepad, which is rather expensive. Another guy implying Nintendo fans are "fanboys" and that we will bit it up for 400$. There's no way the console will cost more than 350 (my bet will be 300, but who knows). Unless Nintendo lost their minds. That's nice. Fuck off. Anybody expecting a one generational jump right now is a bit crazy. There's no point in doing that.

Sweet now lets see if NX games will noticeably be better than PS4/XB1 because that's the only thing that actually matters in this console war.

I find comparing specs between consoles to be such a minuscule debate where it really just comes down to the games. It's not like a huge gap compared to consoles vs PC.

Satoru Iwata himself said ones that the only reason what held back Nintendo Wii U was not the price, it was the less 3rd party support! And I agree with him, if people want something really bad than the price doesen't matter! Kid buy today 600 Dollar Smartphones or 500 Dollar Tablets, if they really want it they buy it. And thats the reason why Nintendo really should release a more powerfull console for 400 or even 500 Dollar. If it's a cool console with alot of power than people will buy it also for 1000 Dollar ;)

Although I do think that Nintendo will use ARM for both the hand held and console, I think your comment on porting is inaccurate though. As long as ARM is supported by the majority of game engines out there (which it is). Porting games to the NX shouldn't be any harder than if the system was x86. What will actually help Nintendo is if the NX is easily more advanced than both the PS4&XbOne in technical specifications by a good margin. This would insure that NX versions of games could be ported without any issues and focus on optimization for the hardware.
