Felt like doing another sales thread. Top 10 best selling 8th gen games, according to VGChartz figures, so no digital. First, games that are exclusive to the 8th gen (PC doesn't count as it transcends standard console generations.). Does not include remakes/remasters.

Note: Including remakes would include Pokemon OmegaRuby/Alpha Sapphire at 10.45m, 6th.

Now a Top 10 list that includes new gen exclusive games and new gen only sales (PS4,X1,WiiU,3DS,Vita) of cross gen games. This does include remakes/remasters.

Note: Combining both Smash Wii U and Smash 3DS as VGChartz does puts it at 12.29m, which would be #2 and #5, respectively. Seperating Destiny and Destiny: The Taken King removes it from the list, and Pokemon OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire is added.

This really does hammer home how many of the top selling games are cross gen. It'll be interesting to see how this changes as PS4 gets more exclusives and as more new gen only games come out.

I'm sure somebody's already done it, but I'm adding a list of top 10 8th gen, single console exclusives, and for sake of the list being even remotely interesting, discounting 3DS. No remakes/remasters or collections. Games with a PC version only count the console version.

Most of the top ten needed Xbone+PS4. Seeing the 3DS managing to sell games so well is a great sign. I'm really hoping the next handheld does well and sells at least 50 million

GTA 5 it's a beast. I wonder how much money Rockstar has made with GTA 5.

As of May 2014, the game made over $1.98 billion in revenue. So minus the $250k from initial development, whatever it cost them to make the DLC, and add the additional almost 2 years worth of sales and revenue, and I think a safe answer is a lot.

Yea, there's a good chance Pokemon X/Y will be there for most of the console generation at least.

No way it only costed 250k to make. I heard the amount of money it costed to make GTA was was close to the amount a blockbuster would need(200+ million).
