Just speaking with a friend who has it. He's reached the final dungeon now at 19 hours, im disappointed at the length of this game compared to the others. 

Whats your thoughts?

Btw he wasn't rushing and says the game has great pace.

I dunno how to do a spoiler tag so work out this maths questions if you want to know how many planets you visit.

That seems... very short. Not good news if thats true.

As long as the quality is good I personally don't care about the length. That is still longer than most games that I play. I'm new to SO series so I hope it is going to be good.

It's difficult to trust that bit of info. Star Ocean games have never been that short. It most likely has 40 to 100 hours of gameplay if you do most of everything.

Their is this neogaf thread and their are a lot of complains about the game, the overall impression feels like a budget title. 

And about the 20 hours, one neogaf member is 12 hours into the game and streams it on youtube, basically he looked it up on the wiki and has finished 2/3 of the game in those hours.

It's 100% true I've been watching him play aswell.

Not quite. 

The Original Star Ocean can be beaten in about 20 hours. Now that I do give it a second thought - As long as it has the typical post game content and that true blue SO grind.... I dont care. The idea about there needing to a certain length designation is just as bad as pixel designation.  

He said its very fun, so if you dont mind about length then im sure you'll enjoy 

I'll make sure to do all of the sidequests then.
