Forums - Nintendo Discussion - My Nintendo doesn't reward NES, or Game Boy VC purchases, and the top tier missions are impossible to impossible.

So My Nintendo and Miitomo launched in most of the first world today. Yaaaay! But looking at the missions for My Nintendo makes me miss Club Nintendo.

So the minimum Gold mission is spending $5-$9.99 for 10 Gold points. That means that Game Boy ($3.99) and NES ($4.99) games aren't rewarded. That means that 112 out of 164 3DS (68%!) Virtual Console games and 86 out of 226 (38%) Wii U Virtual Console games do not reward the user. I know it's a loyalty program, and users are not expected to buy games just for the rewards. It just the fact that a) Club Nintendo rewarded you with points no matter the price of the game; and b) It's a loyalty program that doesn't reward users for purchasing a rather large chunk of its online store offerings, offerings that are most liable to be purchased by their most layal customers.

Also interesting are the top tiers: 70 coins for $60-$69.99 and 80 coins for $70+. Those tiers are impossible to reach with any single game purchase, as most standard retail games are priced at $59.99. An hint of things to come?

Thoughts?

I did notice that so it's a bit disappointing, but then again CN didn't offer that many points for download VC in the first place.. though a little is better than none

As for high end purchases, Wii U games are normally $75 and limited editions will definitely be higher than that so it can be reached..

My Nintendo only rewards digital purchases. In N.America, standard retail for Wii U games is $59.99.

Its just the 1st day hopefully things improved.

lol...people will always complain and say the past is better.

Club Nintendo was basically the same. Most of the rewards for hideous, with only 1 or 2 good things coming every season. Even the close-out wasn't as good as it could have been.

You got 50/60 coins for full title Wii/Wiiu games, and 20-30 for 3DS/DS games. The new system seems much more reasonable, as you won't have to get 4-7 games just to get some crappy virtual console game

Isn't there a way to accumulate purchases, so they amount to an appropiate amount?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

It will probably keep track of your purchases. If you buy a NES game for 4.99 then the next time yo buy a game its added to that 4.99 I'm guessing.

Nope. You get points by individual purchases

Oh right, forgot about that :p

Canada prices are $75 for Wii U and $45-50 for 3DS games so they are really expensive.. iirc, the reward points were not increased either so a full retail Wii U game should give the high tier reward

Though does that mean if I buy a retail game, I will not get points for it?
