You are seriously underestimating the release of the Playstation Exclusive MLB: The Show 16.

The game is ranked at 5.

It is selling better than any game on the list.

Games can sell alot on software, but not move hardware. Why would you say a sports game would increase PS4 hardware sales?

Why not? It is exclusive, want to play it? Well, you either buy a Ps3 or a Ps4.

If you want the best version, it can only be played on the Ps4 tho.

The Xbox One was bundled with Fifa in Europe, did Microsoft bundle the game just for fun?

Do you forget that the casual market exists?  There is an entire segment of people who buy video game systems SOLELY to play sports games.  A lot of those people will have bought a new PS4 to play the new baseball game.  Next year, the same thing will happen with a new group of casual sports gamers.  It's why you see hardware upticks around Madden, MLB, and FIFA.

Really? Alright then, so when Madden 16 launched, XB1 sales increased 56% for one week, and 14% for the PS4 WW. That was 1 week, after that MGS V launched, PS4 sales increased again, while the XB1 went down. FIFA allowed for a 27% increase in PS4 sales that week, and 14% for the XB1. And that was a week, in which after it tapered off. So yes, it allows for 1 week spikes, and then goes back down.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Virtually no marketing?  You and I clearly watch different programming then.  Witcher commercials were prevalent on television for me.

You can't take software sales out of hardware sales the way you seem to want to.  People buy the hardware to play the software.  This gen thusfar people have shown that they are willing to buy the PS4 and then the software not bundled in order to buy new games like The Division, and Fallout 4.  It has also shown that people are willing to see an XB1 commercial for a game like The Witcher and go out and find it on PS4 instead.

Exactly. I thought the argument was that Exclusives didnt move consoles, Multiplatfors games did.

And now Software Sales are Irrelevant to the Console Sales?

I dont want to be pedantic, but the back and forth of some arguments are mind boggling.

I said it can, I didn't say it didn't. Not every game is going to sell consoles because it has good software sales. Look, this is now getting into speculation, which is not what I want to be part of. I'm not prepared to get banned over an argument that means next to nothing, so I'm leaving. The NPD numbers will show who is right or wrong, that we can all agree on.

Why would sales increase by such a large margin because of a product that's launching months away from now? I'm sure existing PS4 owners are excited for this, but we already knew it was launching this year.

PSVue just launched nationwide.  That alone is bound to have a tangible impact on sales moving forward, as many Americans look to dump their cable bill while picking up a Blu-Ray player in the process.

The recent news and open pre-orders with PSVR definitely compelled and will continue compelling people toward Playstation. More particularily, people that were on the fence and waiting on a price confirmation from Sony.

And lastly, it is possible that potential xbox sales are now being funneled over to playstation due to recent anouncements regarding the future of xbox.

The baseline of PS4 should be substantial moving forward. I'm not saying VGC figures are right, but they could absolutely be in the ball park.  We're approaching untested territory here, so it'll be exciting so see how different strategies pay out.

So now you are going back to WW when you keep talking about Amazon sales and NPD?  Don't move your own goal posts man.

When I said can, I didn't mean every example. The Division was also bundled with the XB1, was that bundled for fun to allow the PS4 to get just as many sales? Anyway, like I just said I'm done arguing here, as both of us have invalid arguments. The NPD numbers will prove one of us right, and the other wrong. If none are shown, well we can agree to disagree.

The avg casual cares for games like Call of Duty... and sports games like Fifa,...
and stuff like MLB The Show 16 (which is a exclusive).

MLB the show has been selling like hot cakes, and when a exlusive does that, it pushes hardware.
Atleast it looks like it has judgeing from this thread.

Alright, lets not move goalposts. The XB1 with the Madden bundled had a 58% increase that week in the US, with the PS4 having 16%. The week FIFA launched, sales actually decreased 19% for both consoles. There, argument over, you can check for yourself.

I have forgot about MLB The Show 16. No doubt it helps
