here is a new rumor: Final Fantasy XV coming to NX before March 2017
http://playeressence.com/final-fantasy-xv-coming-pc-nintendo-nx-2017-rumor/
if this is true it basically confirms NX this year

JEMC said:This pretty much confirms a 2016 release (for those who still doubt it). What this does not confirm or deny is if NX will have an optical drive or use cards, as Macronix does the DS/3DS cards but also provides the flash memory of Wii U.

How Nintendo will handle memory storage will be interesting to see. I belive they will be cheap/conservative and just have a basic amount of some sort of flash memory (my guess is 128GB -> less than $30) in the console.

It will also be interesting if they continue with discs or if they go to cartridges or even make it only download (with download stations in shops - see link below).

There's another thread that asks our opinion about NX storage, but I'm sure you already know it.

I would be extremely surprised if Nintendo goes all digital, to be honest. Physical games are still important, not only for those without internet or with poor connections, but also because that gives your machine and games shelf space to make people know about them.

And between discs and cartridges, discs are the best option because they are way cheaper than cards and give enough capacity (for now). Cartridges will be limited to the handheld, where the lack of moving parts is the main reason to use them.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

I'm already pretty sure FFXV will come to NX sometime in 2017, you need a lot of consoles to sell 10 millions.

No one knows how Nintendo is thinking about hardware, that what makes NX threads funny. Sometimes they are stubbornly conservative and sometimes they are technology visionaries. For cartridges there seems to be something from Macronic that is called XtraROM with built in DRM. http://www.macronix.com/CachePages/en-us-Product-ROM-default.aspx#128Mb

It's interesting, but the problem is at the top of that page, ROM = Read-Only Memory.

What's the point of using ROM cartridges instead of the cheaper discs if you can't use them to store your savegames or game patches?

Well the guy finally got verified by Reddit mods.

"As promised, I've decided to share some more NX information with you. This is second-hand information from trusted sources (like last time) and I have little reason to doubt its validity.
Here you go:
x86 architecture.
Backup data to Nintendo server (most likely My Nintendo).
Support for additional screen.
Can handle ports of current-gen games.
Will be able to interact with smartdevice apps.
Using NX software will unlock My Nintendo reward points."

The x86 pretty much means the other rumours were...off..

 Right, forgot again, the link

So again, unlike the previous Reddit leaks, this one has been veried by Reddit mods.

Neogaf has a thread on this.  Is this thread worthy, or should we confine all these rumours and leaks to this thread, even if verified?

We're keeping rumours and leaks in this one thread as to not clutter the forum.

This rumour falls in line with some previous ones as well as matches a few of the patents.

Does this come from the same "source" of your last leak? (I'm talking about this one).

No, in fact he shoots down those rumours.  I made the thread already, because he's the only leaker who got verified by the mods, it got a thread on Gaf, and the user seems to be attempting to get cross-verified by Gaf mods.

Ok, thanks.

I asked because this new leak starts with "As promised, I've decided to share some more NX information with you", but I don't know what he/she said before.
