Considering that all the rumors I'm seeing say it's just to give the system the ability to play 4K movies and TV content, then I'm not going to rush out day one to buy it.

I've got a perfectly capable PS4 right now that I've put a couple thousand dollars into a library for it. I'm good for now. Really don't need these stop-gap releases for home consoles that Apple, Samsung and Nintendo have made the norm for handheld devices.

My ISP only gives me 25 Mbps so no 4K streaming, therefore no 4K TV, therefore no PS4.5 for a while.

4K streaming is 15.6 mbps, plus 20% for hdr (according to netflix) is 18.7 mbps. 20mbps is recommended. So you should be fine.
However my isp is supposed to give me 30mbps and 1080p Netflix already pixelates occasionally. It's not steady enough for my liking. I watched Pacific rim on Netflix and it became a pixelated mess at least 4 times during the movie, couldn't even make out what was going on. 4K lol, more like 240p. I'll stick with blu-ray for now.

If I were to get a PS4, I would get the original version as it would be cheaper and my TV doesn't even have 4K

But would you not be even a tad interested in playing games at 4k? Getting the PS4K provides the incentive, And if you have ever seen the difference you'll know that it is a MASIVE jump, imo bigger than that of 480p to 720-1080p. It just hasn't been taken advantage of yet when it comes to gaming, Star citizen may be the first to actually make use of it and if sony is pushing 4K gaming and devs are to follow and make games for 4k instead of just upscaling, is this not a good thing and a reason to buy a PS4K so you are future proofing youself, despite paying a bit more now?

It hasn't been taken advantage of yet in gaming because the hardware specs required for 4k gaming are beyond what 99% of people have and way way beyond anything that will be in a gaming console in the near future. If a PS4k happens it won't be for gaming, it will just be for movie playback as the change in specs required to cater to gaming in 4k would more than double the console price.

Sooner or later I am going to buy a PS4, so I will get 4K edition
Not as an upgrade on Wii U, an upgrade on PS3, NX will be the upgrade on Wii U

You definitely can't upgrade from a Wii U to a PS4K. They have very different games. As a Wii U owner, I will be buying a PS4. I will wait to see if this PS4K is a thing first though. But it definitely won't be replacing my Wii U. The only console that can do that is Nintendo's next home console.

For 4K blu Ray movies yes I'll get it. Don't care about 4K games as it'll likely just be small indie games if that.

It's mosty likely just a Slim PS4 with 4K media output but either way I wouldn't buy one, I'm feeling quite satisfied with my X1/WiiU combo at the moment. The moment I can use a controller like X1 or WiiU pro on PS4, Then I will consider trying it out :).

Nope. Don't plan on getting a 4K TV anytime soon.

Don't plan on paying another 400€ for a small upgrade either.

Just got a PS4 last February, this is MADNESS!

X1 owner and no I wouldn't buy PS and probably not even upgraded Xbox, I don't really care if a movie I watch is DVD, bluray or 4k and games look good enough at the moment.
