Forbes have just released this article.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/johnarcher/2016/03/29/told-you-so-now-even-sony-and-microsoft-think-the-ps4-and-xbox-one-are-already-out-of-date/#8a77150367c6

I havent even bought a 4k TV yet i was going to wait till next gen or when they get cheaper, i probally go Sony 55 inch, but do we really need to upgraded PS4 or Xbox One now?

Thing is back in good ol nineties consoles would release shit like Mega CD or N64 expansion pack (i bought with Zelda Majora's mask).

Is this just another one of those moments?

Isn't every console "outdated" after a few months?

before consoles used to come out with a next gen card moded to be a bit more powerful. This gen they came out with a current gen card modded to be a bit more powerful. But the new cards came out months after the systems release making them out of date quickly.

Because the jump from 700's and 900's was kinda nice leap forward.

Jesus Christ no. We are past the age where people can expect cutting edge technology at an affordable price.

I'll save myself the trouble now - the PS3 was cutting edge when it came out, if you want to debate that then there's an entirely new thread someone else can make to discuss that topic.

The point is, as there is no immediate or available successor, the current gen is -NOT- out of date.

Technically, they were out of date the moment they launched. There were better GPU's, CPU's and motherboards supported more RAM. Granted, GDDR5 as the main system memory is new, but that's about it.

yes i want better and stronger console as an option for me

There the strongest consoles out now so no there not out of date in the console market even though there are better chips.

Honestly I think the PS4 is fine as is.
And the graphics it can produce in games currently is still pretty darn good.

Out of the gate? Yeah i agree with you. But now? After all the hardcore (use it in lack of a better term) bought already a current gen console, they are giving the more casual (again, the same applies) gamers that option? Makes no sense. I own a limited edition ps4 and everyone that has one probably aren't very happy about trade it in for a regular ps4k. This is just a slim version comming and i think people are ridding this rumor to hard just for clicks on the gaming sites...

I agree with you. It won't be a ps4.5 but rather a PS4.2 with slightly upgraded internals and a smaller design. All this rampant speculation, what do you expect? Look at what it's doing for the Nintendo guys
