Forums - Gaming Discussion - VG Chartz OAPs (25+) What were your fave obscure games? 8-16 bit

Ay Up! Strange topic I know, but I got reminiscing as I'm sure we all do when we grew up in a gaming time that is totally different to now.

So here's a chance to discuss what older games you grew up loving, that nobody has ever heard of now!

For my contribution, I really wanted to put Top Gear/Racer forward. It was basically a typical 8-16 bit  racer from Gremlin Interactive (now known I believe as Sumo Digital of Outrun 2 fame). I had such a blast with this game. Especially loved the fuel management aspect of the game (pretty similar to Continental Circus, well, having pit stops at least, that was just for repairing your car).

So VGC OAPs, what games really grabbed you back in the day that absolutely nobody seems to talk about at all now?

Gargoyle's Quest II.

Really though, Gargoyle's Quest II.

Recent memory from the past 5 years I'd say Scott Pilgrim vs the World the game.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Not my most favorite, but one of the games from that age I remember the most:The King Of Dragons.Best beat-em-up game ever, and an excellent co-op game

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Hmm Rainbow Islands.

Zero Wing. People usually remember it for the bad engrish, but it's actually a pretty decent space shooter, plus it has a great soundtrack.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

As much as I love that game, it's not 8 or 16 bit despite what the graphics might tell you ;)

That said, where the hell is my Vita port? :(

Good shout! I really wish this franchise would get ressurected!
