Forums - General Discussion - Man arrested for plan to bomb mosque, only given 90 days

http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2016/03/26/3763714/california-man-90-days-2/

A man was arrested for threatening to bomb a mosque. Police found actual explosives in the man's house, meaning a potential disaster could have occured.

He was arrested for 90 days, with a 3 year probation and a 3 year ban of Facebook. Looking deeper into the story, it seems the man had some mental issues.

Mental issues or not though, 90 days seems more like a slap on the wrist. I honestly can't say if it's too low because the exact details weren't mentioned(yet the writer just had to mention he's a Trump supporter). If the person actually had  powerful explosives, then I'd say 90 days is a tad bit too low

90 days does sound lenient for something like that, though he'll probably be under observation for a while afterwards one would think (or hope ).

3 year facebook ban, damn that was harsh.

It was a plea arrangement, so there probably wasn't much evidence that he planned a specific crime beside him yelling "I’m going to kill you all". Bargains like that are usually made when the prosecution isn't completely confident.

Still, it's hard to say. Most online news websites suck. They leave out or smudge details because they believe their agenda is more important than the story itself. Which presidential candidate is favored by a criminal seems to be more of a focal point than the actual crime. I'm really getting tired of that.

Yeah, the article was less concerned with how 90 days is probably too lenient for a man who possessed explosives and openly threatened to kill people (which I agree with), and more concerned with "Hey, see this crazy violent man? He's a Trump supporter! Uh-huh! Uh-huh!"

So goddamn annoying. Seriously, so many people are obsessed with pointing out that many Trump supporters are dumb. Ok, we get it. However, bernie and Hillary supporters aren't any more smarter(they're more annoying tbh).

I don't care what someone's personal values are. Sharing the actual news story is more important. I don't like Trump, but even I know he was forced into this news article

Imagine if the guy was muslim. Or black. I wonder if the prosecutor would hav been more confident....

Punishment? Read an article that suggested the amount of time people spend on facebook is directly related to how depressed they are. They may have just cured this guys depression! Seems more like a reward

Could explain how happy I am, I should update my facebook status from.... eeerrr. last years Birthday. :D

Of course they did, it's ThinkProgress, a propaganda site funded by George Soros. The very same man who funds MoveOn - the guys behind the Trump riots in Chicago.
