Forums - Gaming Discussion - Most ridiculous amounts of DLC?

But you know there is somebody out there that purchased all that crap...

Around the Network

Train Simulator 2015 has €2.173,71 worth of DLC. Might be more, since it is on sale.

Train Simulator 2016

Base game costs 22.99 €. All DLC costs 2 173.71 € The game and a lot of its DLC is discounted though, so the full price of all DLC could be even higher...

Im not sure if its Rock Band 4 or if it is Guitar Hero Live, but for you to get every song in one of the two, you need to spend a total of 2500 dollars.Quite a small fortune.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

:o

Even with most of it 50% off at the moment it's still an insane amount! The worst part is that it sounds like a yearly franchise. Isn't the purpose of a yearly franchise to add all of that stuff to the next years version rather than charge separately for every little thing?

It's not a yearly franchise, it gets a yearly lick of paint and everything carries over. I bought the base game 6 years ago when it was still called Railworks, still works, and now called Train simulator 2016. DLC has been building up since its release in 2009.

I dont see the big deal, DoA last round has more than enough content on the disc. Including bikini outfits for almost any female character. No one forces you to buy the rest.

Many of these DLC costumes are also destructable which kinda improves the graphical quality of the game on PS4 and Xbox One only. But you can meet other players wearing these costumes in the MP obviously, and torn their DLC clothes to pieces.

Honestly for DOA it didn't bother me that much. At first the dlc was still limited but they keep working on DLC and have the right to ask money for it. It is like saying 'wow if I want every theme/Avatar I have to pay thousands on PSN.

Little big planet 3 has a lot of dlc aswell, just went trought it and has +500 DLC content;

Only game that let me allow to get millions of skins without paying is minecraft on PC. But mojang have stated they made hundreds of millions and the free skins make it also popular doubt little big planet or DOA will be way more popular if everything was free.

most reasonable DLC would be mario kart. It provides you with 4 Grand Prixes, which is half of what the game originally offered. It also includes 6 characters, several kart customizations, and new colours for yoshi and Shy Guy. All for 18 bucks...

Most RIDICULOUS DLC is any mobile game. HOLY crap do I hate DLC from mobile games. In case you don't know, let me put some examples:

Pokemon non-mobile: Heal your pokemon as normal
Pokemon mobile: It will take 3 hours to heal your pokemon. If you'd like, you can spend 5 pokegems to make the pokemon heal faster.

Street Fighter non-mobile: You died. Restart and fight again.
Street fighter mobile: You died. You must wait 1 hour, or pay 99 cents for an extra round.

Call of Duty non-mobile: Ran out of bullets? Reload.
Call of Duty mobile: Ran out of bullets? You must pay ridiculously high prices for new bullets.

Legend of Zelda non-mobile: Sweet, you got bombs!
Legend of Zelda mobile: You need some bombs to go through this way...but you need to pay 5 goddamn bucks.

Xenoblade non mobile: Nice, new world! We should explore it.
Xenoblade mobile: You must have 29049032 friends or pay 10000 gems to enter this world.

See what I mean? Even CoD DLC isn't that ridiculous to me anymore

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

saw the Train simulator on youtube, DLCs are too costly.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is too costly as well. And fighting games are also costly - Smash, DOA 5:LR, MK X, etc.

Nothing as bad as ones mentioned, but Smash 4 DLC is pretty bad
