Forums - General Discussion - Microsoft's AI became a Nazi within a day

It was in the local newspaper yesterday. "What does this say about us, and more importantly, our future?" *Think of the children!* *Internet trolls will destroy the world!!!*

I fucking hate mainstream journalism. Take a joke you god damn retards, holy hell.

Indeed. I bought the first season on blu-ray right after the cancellation, and haven't even opened it. It's difficult to commit to a revisitation of a show that was canceled well before it's narrative came to a conclusion.

Same, as much as I loved the series, I can never go back and watch it again since I know it;s not complete and it only makes me feel grumpy because of it.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

It's not even that it's a joke, learn human nature.  We push our boundaries, we probe the outter borders to see what's possible.  You give us an AI, and there are many who are going to feed it horrific shit, just to see what the response is.  Likewise with sandbox games.  You give us an open world, tell us anything is possible and people are going to see exactly how far you allow that world to be pushed.  Then yes, on top of that, you will have the trolls...it's bound to happen.

People might not be able to articulate it quite as well as you just did, but most of them will still be able to understand and explain what happened and why. Its just so damn obvious. Yet, the loudest voice in our world, is a dumb fucking idiot. It just makes me so sad :'C

They probably should of had filters for racist and other controversial subjects. Welcome to the internet Microsoft.

Wouldn't that compromise the experiment? If they only allowed some elements to enter on the program, wouldn't the results would be entirely predictable, and thus useless?

Yea, that probably would have ruined the experiment.  Perhaps they should have released the bot on Christian Mingle or some other site besides the garbage dump known as twitter.

Or just hide the fact it's an AI. Imagine having it blend with the crowd for a year, and then showing the evolution of its thought process, without attracting the attention of trolls.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

That is a pretty good idea.  All this bot talk reminds me of the old prehistoric yahoo chat bots that try act like women but were only programmed for a few responses mainly trying to click on god knows what kind of link (most with terrible English) or the time Match.com got busted for using bots to try and keep members subscribed (they probably still use bots).

There's a petition to bring her back. :)

The number of articles that I had to skim over thanks to TayTweets......

Drawing conclusions about the death of morality in our society because some folks decided to have fun with AI, hilarious
