My favorites are Kingdom Hearts tied with Zelda. It's very difficult to say if the KH series is on a decline, while KH2 sold less than KH1 I think that has more to do with it releasing near the end of the PS2 life and I don't think the handheld games are a good reference since their lower sales could be because people see them as spin-offs (though they really aren't) since they don't have a number in their name like KH1 and KH2.It's also difficult to say if KH3 will sell more or less than KH2 because it's been 10 years since KH2 and the market has changed since then but I can see KH3 being bigger than KH2, especially if it includes big newer Disney properties like Frozen, Tangled (confirmed), Big Hero 6 (this is confirmed too),etc. Regarding Zelda I think the series has more or less remained stable and I think Zelda U will sell more than SS if it's on NX and if the NX is successful.

^ this. I voted in growth though. Believe! Persona 5 will grow it. |
Yep! I believe! hahaha.
I´ve been enjoying a lot the latest installments of SMT games on the 3ds and I hope that both Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Persona 5 achieve good sales in the West.
Fingers crossed for a SMTIVFinal release in the West soon, too!
OP updated with life time projections for the games below.
However, projections for these games are based on how they faired in their 1st month compared to how their preceding installment faired in its 1st month. The projections will be updated when we have 1st year numbers.
Game |
First week sales |
First year sales |
Life to date sales |
Projected lifetime sales |
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End | 2.20 | (1st month +42%) | 2.98 | (6.82*1.42 =) 9.68 |
DOOM (2016) | 0.65 | (1st month +341%) | 1.28 | 4.81 |
Ratchet & Clank (2016) | 0.20 | (1st month +186%) | 0.87 | 2.00 |
Dark Souls III | 0.42 | (1st month -1%) | 1.71 | 2.65 |
Street Fighter V | 0.44 | (1st month -63%) | 0.70 | 2.64 |
Dirt: Rally | 0.18 | (1st month -23%) | 0.38 | 1.51 |
Ratchet & Clank is my favourite probably, and it looks like it's definitely in a period of growth.
Ratchet & Clank, Grand Theft Auto, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid and Fallout are all on growth. Assassin's Creed and Resident Evil are declining, which is pretty obvious why it has happened.
Well at the moment:
3D Mario : fairly steady
Xenoblade: fairly steady but far too low for its quality
Zelda: fairly steady.
Uncharted it is in the lift, but unfortunately no sequel will be made by ND :(
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
