A friend of mine says that there's pretty good torrent floating around but I'm not going to download it until I've seen the movie.

I hear it's good from some and bad from others. Personally, I'm a huge DC fan. The story where Doomsday first appeared is what made me a huge comics fan. I actually didn't start until all was said and done. I kept hearing about Doomsday. The character was already mythological in my mind before I finally laid eyes on him. He was right up there with Bane!

The Dark Knight Returns is one of my favorite stories as well. At this point, I'm really deep in DC Comics lore. I'm going in with reasonable expectations. Maybe even low expectations but I imagine I'll still enjoy the film if, for nothing else, Batman's portrayal.

Batman's portrayal is really good, and it has strong references TDKR, so I think you might find it at least enjoyable. I thought it was enjoyable because of that. It has a lot of flaws, and I won't say it's actually a good movie, but I enjoyed it and in the end that's what counts.

I'm not sure why TFA was brought to the topic in question, they're really different films, just saying :P. But, just for fun, I think TFA is way, way better, but that doesn't mean I didn't kinda enjoy BvS.

I believe that is my proception, as well. That this batman is referencing TDKR Batman and that part of the movie I know I would love personally as well. I think if this movie does indeed in history go down as the a bad movie, this will for sure be the best role/actor in a bad movie question that I seen thrown around in movie lists/arguments.

What sucks more than anything is that I was listening to a review and they spoiled a major plot point. Probably THE most major plot point. Anyway, I'll be at the theater in three hours, judging for myself.

Yeah, that part of the movie would strike you as being really similar to the comic. I enjoyed that part, actually, because I really love that comic, though the movie as a whole really feels disjointed.

I think I know what you are talking about, and that sucks that was spoiled for you. I will not post the spoiler, but I believe I know which one it is.

ben affleck was acting in it, what did you expect?

Went to see BvS tonight with mates.... and since the announcement that Ben Affleck was going to be Batman that was all I had worried about this movie all the way til the point of watching it... but my God, it's so clear that Ben actually has a knowledge and respect of the Batman character at least a bit, but this whole movie... it's a fucking boring shambles, 2 and a half hours of nonsense, there was a person down the row from me started to play games on her phone mid way through the second hour and I swear... I almost was more interested in her clash of clans town than what was going on in the film.

we were talking after that if you haven't seen it yet you should bring in some vodka and take a shot everytime there is a dream sequence of some sort, at a point Batman is knocked out.... in a dream... and has a flash back to finally end waking up a second time, it's inception levels of dream scene, the only way the director can seem to get any story across is with constant reminders from Batz that MAH PARENTZ ARE DEAD, and if it wasn't for the co-incidence of mother names the fight would have been to the death... I mean dear fucking God if Supermans adopted mother had been called anything other than Martha would Bruce have just shrugged off what he was muttering and stabbed him in the head. Also superman dies.... for like the 15th time and we're expected to do anything other than half at the shock at this? also the fucking newpaper which reported front pager "superman dead" had a piece half way through about Clark Kent writer for the planet passed away...  sure people gonna be shocked when Superman comes back to life but you can shrug it off that he is an alien, but What do people think when Clark comes back to work at the planet?.... also Lex wtf Luther, just can't even go into that character, was one of the worst films I've ever seen and it's worse than all the other comic book/super hero films, including the 60s batman fighting with a damn rubber shark on a ladder.

Seriously, I felt so bad for Affleck after coming from this movie, he tried his hardest but was just drowned in shit.

As a comics fan, I can explain everything. Even why Lex talked the way he did and the dream sequences.

As a comics fan as well, and especially a Superman and Batman fan, I can do the same and it seems like you and I came out of the theater feeling the same way about it. :D

Going to see it again later this week.

As a comic fan, but mainly Marvel, I found this film to be well not exactly great... not good infact. I can see some great moments, Affleck as Batman was always going to be good if people know Affleck (seriously, he's a good actor, people just fixate on one bad thing be mad 12 years ago), the issues come from anything that basically wasn't just Batman stuff. The guy who plays Supes isn't the best actor, the weird tiny Amazonian woman didn't work. The story seemed to jump from one scene to the next without any context a lot. Far too many dream sequences, at one point a dream within a dream? How far from each other are Gotham and Metropolis in this weird world? it seemed to make out like they were pretty much next to one another.

I think Suicide Squad will be a far better film because it will be more grounded and less gods characters.

Let's put it this way, DC should stick to TV series and cartoons, which they excel at.

Hmm, pie.
