1) The Nikkei just reports Nintendo will stop producing Wii U within 2016. It doesn't say they will necessarily start selling NX in 2016.

2) Acc. to the paper, some Wii U accessories are already not being produced anymore. Nintendo plans to deplete inventory this year

There is no shortage of them new here in game stores, Local smiths has about 30 of each game bundle all still full price.... I've been watching them.... waiting.... wanting.....

Honestly at this stage I'm just being a fucking vulture to get my Wii-U there are some games on it I'd love to play but... it's a very finite number and I'm not willing to pay the original entry fee now for the system possibly so close to the end of it's life.

If this is true that the Produstion of the Nintendo Wii U ends in 2016, then it almost confirms that the home console launches first! Together with a statement of a Nintendo employee who said that the Nintendo 3DS has alot of life left and a bright future, my prediction makes alot of sense ;)

I saw somewhere else on NeoGAF that the NX would also be fully unveiled before E3, which would make sense. If they are completely stopping production of the Wii U, they should be trying to get the NX out there to the media and the masses as soon as possible. I am sure at this point there is lots and lots of hype, but eventually hype dies, they have to get it out there while people are still paying attention.

Usually you keep selling the previous console for a year or two after next gen comes out before discontinuing it.
