Definitely Ico. The scene when your about to escape the castle with Yorda.
Left me feeling sick to my stomach.

FF7 - end of disc 1

i remember an emotional scene @chrono trigger.. can't remember which scene was it

The love story in Terranigma, especially that one particular scene in the castle on the overworld when she lost her voice and you tried to bring it back. As the hero fell in love with Melina, so did I. Her beautiful theme song heavily contributed to that.

Spoilers but uh Final Fantasy IV
Two moments, the first is when Rydia is still a kid and Cecil and Kain unwillingly burn her whole town and she's crying over her dead mother, that moment when she is running away from them and yells "leave me alone, I hate you"
That was like omg like you could just feel how angry she was

And then the other part is when Cecil and everyone is getting absolutely hammered by Golbez and they're all about to die but then all of a sudden he gets hit by a mist dragon and Cecil gets healed and Rydia comes back and joins the party and says "don't worry, you'll be fine" as an adult (she gets thrown into the ocean pretty early on in the game and then comes back at the best part)

^This was such an underrated game. The Tellah casting Meteor scene being the first actual non reversable death in Final Fantasy  or the Porom, Palom sacrifice.

Those scenes were so good... especially Pallom and Porom... and poor Tellah :(

Also the scene where Anna dies... That is so emotional. This game is so good and I hope to god Square decides to remake it on the scale of Final Fantasy 7.

Plus all the Kain moments... god damn he never gets a break and everyone hates him.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time -The only Pokemon game with a really good story imo. I was only 10 at the time but it made me cry.

I definitely have to play this game, since I really liked SMM and I think the plot was really good. Talking about this game, I thought that the ending after you beat the final boss is really heartbreaking (I'll totally skip the epilogue to give it more impact). And the first time you leave the village was really sad.

For me it was in Chrono Trigger.
In the scene where Lucca´s father, Taban, explains why her mother can´t walk.

In the beggining of the game, at certain times Lucca says that her mother Lara don´t usually go out and I began wonder why she was always at the same spot, at the same chair all the time, inside the house.
Later, her father Taban talked about some sort of machine he was working on, and her wife wanted to dust it off. The machine accidentally ignated and pulled her dress, Lucca couldn´t stop the machine. Taban was so consumed by regret and remorse that he became to be a very different person.

After that scene, I just couldn´t stop thinking about the scene and how horrible it would be to a child seeing this kind of thing happening to her mother, unable to do anything about it. It was a moving story.

Just gave me chills reading that. Luckily, there was a chance to make this right.

I screwed it up a couple of times but then I realized  Lucca's was named LARA! Damn, that game was fantastic.

Probably Final Fantasy VII, but not the Aerith scene that everyone quotes. It actually came before that when Red XIII discovers the truth about his father. He'd had all this hatred built up for his father and to then discover the truth and the tragic nature of his father's final act when they're reunited.

I haven't played it in ages but that was an awesome scene that I forgot. The part where they show Barret's back story was great, too.  It never even occurred to me to ask why Barrett was black and his daughter was white. Great game.
