There are a couple variables to consider here.

For one, Digimon is a mainline RPG game, while Pokken is a fighting spinoff.

Also, Digimon is on the Vita, where it targets its main demographic, while Pokken is on the Wii U, which has seen very few Pokemon titles (and the Vita has also sold more than the Wii U in Japan).

However, YSO predicted that Pokken would sell more than Digimon first week, so maybe the picture that these charts paint isn't entirely accurate.

Oh I see! That makes sense.

Anyone know what is the most selling Pokemon game on consoles in Japan?

I think it's Pokemon Stadium 2, followed by Pokemon Stadium 1.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Really glad Digimon outsold Pokémon, even though there have been a lot of new Vita games lately so it had a lot more competition from other games on the console than Pokken did. Way to go!

Hopefully the salaes are close to Cyber Sleuth which were strong enough to warranty a localization.

Digimon isn't first because it sold well, but because Pokken sold even worse lol

Anyway, it will probably be Pokken > Digimon at Media Create

This was YSO's prediction for this week btw:

YSO predictions

01. [WIU] Pokken Tournament < 80k (average 65k)
02. [PSV] Digimon World: Next Order < 55k (average 45k)
03. [PS4] Tom Clancy's The Division < 20k
03. [3DS] Pokemon Red / Green / Blue / Yellow < 20k

All three of these retailers have Digimon over Pokken so maybe Digimon did better than expected? Or there's a possibility that Pokken just did less than expected.

Bundle will lift Pokken sales.  I expect it to sell out because it was one of the only ways to get a WiiU at the moment :P

COMG is showing Cyber Sleuth > Next Order FW salesa and Cyber Sleuth opened at 69k, so I think everything sounds about right.

It looks like YSO is right again!

They matched the new releases but failed with the old ones (The Division and Pokemon Red / Blue...)
