I needed something to do during my refractory period.

I joined because I saw a smash tourney on the old nintedomination thread.

Because a certain someone's thread pissed me off, so I made an account to reply. Yes, it's dumb. But whatever.

bet: lost

I was a lurker for a good while, so I thought "I'll join, why not?". Yes, that's it lol.

Another on bites the dust

OT: Multiple reasons. I first found the site through my interest of games sale numbers. When I found out this site updated weekly (lol), I started to come every once in a while (twice a week?). At some point, I started to come daily and then I met the forums.  It was cool, so I joined.

In the middle of that time, I was also looking for some site where I can play games online with others (not many people I know play Nintendo games), so this ended up being that.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

It was the lack of understanding of what constitutes a review/review score.

bet: lost

I can't remember when I started lurking here...but it's been a while. Before this, I spent all my time on anime FCs, but would still read gaming news on one of said FCs. At the time, the 3DS and Vita were both being rumored heavily. Maybe it was just the nature of the forum...but literally every bit of 3DS news would have some obnoxious poster trashing it. Almost every thread on the subject would turn into 3DS trashtalk and Vita circlejerk...which was seriously getting on my last nerve at the time.

Long story short...the systems came out, and we all know how that went. I came to VGC to watch the sales gap increase, and use it to give some rude users on that other forum their just comeuppance. Over time, I stopped caring, and ending up leaving that forum after I lost interest in the manga it was built around (it was a Naruto forum), but never stopped hanging around VGC. The threads were interesting, there always seemed to be stuff to talk about, and the mod team did a great job weeding out users that were harmful to the community, which is something my previous forum really could have benefitted from.

So anyway, I came here out of pettiness, but ended up staying for the community, and I like to think I improved greatly as a user in the process. Obviously I liked it...which is why I'm still around, and helping the community improve in whatever way I can.

i used to visit IGN for gaming related news and to read the comments. This site was cited a few times, and I saw that the community at ign was shit. Once I started looking around this site more, I realized that I could get all the news I wanted in addition to threads about rumors, interviews, opinions, basically everything gaming related. Seeing the bright and intelligent people on VGC inspired me to sign up and participate and well... This is a good community for being a place on the Internet.

For the sales.

I was debated on YouTube, and the guy messaged me and said I would be schooled on vgc.
