No, its gotta be the GPU. Much like Alan Wake, this game is heavy on effects.

That may well be true, though we can't know for certain.

Still can't say 720p/30fps in an Xbox One title shocks me, any more than 900p/30fps shocks me in a PS4 title.

Well I don't think there was any mention of CPU in the DF analysis and lots of discussion on the GPU heavy effects. So... I don't think CPU is the issue here.

Anyhow, this resolution thing actually has me curious to see this game. It must look really polished if they went with 720p.

This game tackles geometric aliasing effectively but alas I can see that shadows are still a big issue in games ...

900p/30fps on a big ps4 exclusive is not the same as a that on a third party multyplat. I expect devs to put more effort into it, that it would be easier with one output hardware and using it as best as possible and getting as close to the metal as pssible. So 720p/30fps on x1 exclusive is still shocking.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

I think i know what they're doing this game... I'm gonna keep my eyes open on this.

The game is also releaseing on PC so its not a X1 only focused game. In fact the game coming to PC means there pushing for more in there ballpark which will affect the console hardware. PS4 wont fair much better.

Besides what many gamers arent seeing is the AA or the effects. That bullet time effect is on another to any game iv seen. Thats definitely a hardware pusher.

Technically Quantum Break isn't an Xbox One exclusive, it's on PC as well.

However, Dead Rising 3 was initially X1 exclusive, (The PC port came later) and that ran at 720p/30fps, so I don't find it shocking.

The order was sub 1080p and first party. It's also by far the best looking 8th gen title. So as long as the game looks good I don't care all that much about the resolution.

I know you didn't, but you are involving the PS4 in your response.
You can't take QB as just another title and 720p is ok. It's supposed to be THE power showcase of XBO up until now, just like Uncharted 4 is for PS4 now as well, and on that case, Uncharted is not a sub-1080p game as you are using as refference to compare QB being not shocking by maybe being 720p.

Uncharted 4 900p/60fps multiplayer doesn't take away its 1080p/30fps single player, also.

I don't know about Quantum Break being "THE power showcase of XBO", not saying it isn't, just that I haven't heard many claims as such. My point was simply that since we've seen plenty of sub-900p games on X1 and plenty of sub-1080p games on PS4, it's not really shocking to me any more.

And by the same token, UC4's 1080p single player doesn't take away its 900p multiplayer.

Doesn't take away that the multiplayer is running in 60fps and 900p/60fps is still way better than either 1080p or 720/30Fps

I'm a framerate over resolution guy myself, so I concur, but 60fps doesn't change the fact that the multiplayer is sub-1080p.

I'm not sure what your point is here. Why does it matter if the 60 fps multiplayer is 900p? The part of Uncharted 4 that is comparable to Quantum Break is the singleplayer, and that is 1080p.
