Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will a PS4.5 dismantle any chances for an NX/Xbox upgrade come back?

Xbox 1 will never come back. They can't get the rest of the world, outside of the US, to buy it's product. The NX is going to depend on how well it does, what it's setting out to do, and the controller, imo.

So we hear one rumour about this, and now we're talking about how if it'll win the console wars. 4k gaming is very unaffordable, one thing people are forgetting. So this is likely just a rumour, and nothing more.

yeah its weird

hear rumors of NX and its doomed. Hear rumors of PS4.5 and its going to dominate

very confusing indeed

we'll see what happens though by e3 im sure

I agree.

While you're here, could you advise the thread creator that we don't take kindly to folk who don't put a little more substance in their OPs 'round these parts?

Will a console we know virtually nothing about beat an upgrade we know nothing about and another console we know nothing about?

My answer is maybe.

Funny stuff :)

don't think so

Likely was never going to be any comeback. What it mainly does is likely make "generational" upgrades obsolete, there won't be any "generations" any more, you'll be able to upgrade every year or two if you want in the future with whatever hardware you want.

As far as I'm concerned, The PSVR is PS4.5. It cost more than the actual console itself, so why not?

I am guessing that due to the PSVR, this will extend the PS4's lifetime. Sony will want their VR to be profitable, so they will need to keep it out on the market for longer to make it worthwhile.

What this is is Sony telling MS they'll go the same route if necessary.

The PS5 Exists.

It's a question not a fact finding commitee.

I admire your defiance, young chimaru. I was young and reckless like you, once. I made threads all "Willy nilly".  I thought I was cool until I woke up one day and my big toe was swollen to the size of a pumpkin.

Just take my advice. Edit the op. Write a couple of complete sentences. You'll thank me later.

That depends, but I think if Sony really wants this model,I feel like it needs to be more of a social thing and has a system to control the market without upsetting the balance and by providing ways to make you buy while making sure more software is sold in the ecosystem.

For example, knowing there's a PS4.5, especially during holidays or birthdays, you could say your PS4 is valuable enough to be considered as a gift no matter if it's old or new. The incentive with a PS4.5 is more of on yourself as a willing upgrader but how do you ditch the original PS4 without making yourself feel bad or not monetized. With that process, it's only good for the userbase, the graphics are afterall just superficial changes. Not a gameplay thing. You also help by selling or giving it away to people who really can't afford it right away and giving yourself if you are willing adaptor to experience the bells and whistles of an upgraded PS4. With it being a social platform by adding more people who are diverse who probably would wait until the price goes down. Diversity in numbers is what makes it a beautiful thing. More games to sell and more games to be sold.Which IMO is what devs want.
